One of my client requirment is as follow'sStart with a fresh Amazon Unix AMIexecute a script that will Download the CQ JARs from S3 or any storage space, Install CQInstall the Configuration Package (Clean Up package, Content Package for the UI pages, Permissions Package, etc)If we can, even update the admin password as part of the script.Can any  one help out like how to write those scripts (3rd point ) and how to execute those scripts automatically. 

Hi,I am trying to create a dialog in my components. For one of the dialog, i used the xtype as 'dialogfieldset'. After using that, the dialog box doesn't show up in the webpage.This is my component Structure.mycomponent> dialog > items > items> tab1 > items > Textitems (xtype as 'dialogfieldSet)>text1 The above is not working. Can anyone help to identify what wrong in it?

I've forgotten my OSGI sling console password, is there a way to reset it? I've tried re-setting the user password as suggested in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/922880Is there any other way to get this fixed?Also, the admin users of my machine are not able to login into OSGI console using their credentials, do they need any special permission to do this or they are not allowed to login into OSGI console at all?Thanks,

Warning: My AEM noob is about to hang out;I have started my first rudimentary worflow.  I have two steps, Draft and Review.  Review has an Or Split where the assigned users can reject or activate the page.  The reject option is a GoTo Step, but it is blind to the rest of the workflow - I can't set it to go back to the Draft step.  Is this by design or am I just doing it wrong?

Hi,Out of the box, AEM/CQ comes with the geometrixx sites: 2 non-mobile sites and 1 mobile site.  Consider the following setupa. author instance is running on 4502b. publish instance is running on 4503c. author is replicating content to 4503On the server that is hosting the publish instance, we can pull up a browser and browse to http://myserver:4503/content/geometrixx/global/en-us/index.html to see the page.  The question is: how do we actually make the geometrixx live so that users can go to http://geometrixx.com and see contents that are in the /content/geometrixx/global/en-us folder?  Where can we find documentation about this?  How do we bypass CQ authentication if the geometrixx content is made into a live website?Many thanks in advance!

I have a new publish instance (aem-publish-4503.jar) installed based on the adobe instructions. The start script shows port 4503 and runmode=publish.When I use the browser to open the URL, it shows the login page and the pages show up with sidekick etcHowever during initial start process I see the following in logs:16.12.2013 14:11:19.753 *INFO* [FelixStartLevel] org.apache.sling.settings.impl.SlingSettingsServiceImpl Active run modes: [author, crx2, nosamplecontent, crx3mongo]How should I change the instance back to publish mode ?Thanks,Teky

Hi All,Using JCR API i want to fetch the value of thumbnail image of a Asset. Purpose.I am trying to display the thumbnail image of a Book in the main page and on click of it i will display the complete details including the main image  of the Book. I tried to fetch the data from under imagenode/rendition folder. Thanks in Advance.

I changed the OSGI password from the /system/console/cfgMgr, but it changes back to admin password for some reason.I first changed the admin password using the granite console. (/libs/granite/security/content/useradmin.html)After this whenever I try to change it using "felix ÖSGI management console" as stated in the adobe documentation, it defaults back to the basic admin password.Any help will be appreciated.

Hi when i select the component group in the sidekick and uncheck the group again, the components under that particular group are not uncheking completly, Manually i have to uncheck each and every component under the group. Is this a Product bug..? or Expected behaviour.?[img]GroupUncheck.PNG[/img]

Hi,    We want to disable some OOTB bundles that come with AEM5.6.1 like social bundles which we dont use in our code. In general what would be the best approach to stop the bundles at the time of startup other than going to apache felix console and stopping it manually. Remember that we have 300 servers to do the same activity and manual approach is not feasible.And also any document/link which specifies how the bundles are deployed. The reason for this is becuase as I notice there are several ways that a bundle gets deployed in to AEM5.61 world.1. Framework bundles which load automatically from the WEB-INF of aem.war2. Bundles loading when a content package is deployed.How does the sling/CQ/felix know what bundles to deploy? RegardsRama.

Hi Experts:-I have a scenario wherein i want to include certain Javascripts and Styles on template based on the checkbox selected in component which is included in the template.Issue that I am facing is that I am able to access checkbox value only from component jsp while this value is not accessible from template jsp.Is there a way to achieve this. Also can i build a edit mode for the entire template itself. ThanksSudeep

I am trying to reuse the form component into my project components.I have copy pasted the entire form folder from "/libs/foundation/components/form" to my project "/apps/mywebsite/components/form".But when i am trying to use the Form from mywebsite the from shows only Start of the from. Where as when i tried to use the Form from the foundation in the same page parsys it shows both Start and End of the form.Content Observation:When i am using the foundation Form the in the page content i can see the start and end nodes. where as while using the mywebsite Form start node alone is created.[img]StartForm.png[/img][img]StartEndForm.png[/img]Do i need to add any other component dependencies from foundation.? what are the steps to follow for reuse of the Form as a local component. Hi,I was wondering how we can use the AEM dispatcher to point to the landing page of a website in the publish instance.  At the moment, I have a working dispatcher that is rendering content from the publish instance from the / directory.  In other words, http://myserver is serving the same content as http://myserver:4503 (which is my publish instance).  My publish instance has the geometrixx and geometrixx-outdoor sites. How can I configure the dispatcher so that users who go to http://myserver will see the geometrixx content instead of the default http://myserver:4503/content.html (or whatever rootmappingservlet page that was set)?  How can I bypass the AEM login with the dispatcher?  Can the bypass be possible or should something be done with the site first before we proceed to configure the dispatcher?Thank You.

Hi, I trying to understand how what CQ (sling) uses to resolve run.modes I have following run modesling.run.modes=rohit,local,dev,author I have following config nodeconfig.rohit.local.dev.authorconfig.local.dev.author Scenario 1:If we have both the config node:config.rohit.local.dev.authorconfig.local.dev.author Then it matches "config.rohit.local.dev.author" Scenario 2:If I delete node "config.rohit.local.dev.author" then it matches "config.local.dev.author" Scenario 3:After deleting node "config.rohit.local.dev.author" then if I rename "config.local.dev.author" to "config.R1.R2.local.dev.author" it does not matches anything Scenario 4:After deleting node "config.rohit.local.dev.author" then if I rename "config.local.dev.author" to "config.local.dev.author.R1.R2" it does not matches anything Not able to understand #3 & #4 behavior - why its not matching anything ?

But i was not able to find the details of image size  under  'metadata' node of an image in CRX  . 1.Can someone let me know , where the image size details are stored in CRX ?2. Hello, I've been working for the last months in a project based on CQ5, now I'm facing the deployment to a production environment.We are working with a project based on CQBluePrints archetype and an integration server managed by Jenkins. We have jobs in Jenkins to manually run deploys against our QA and UAT environments. Now, when it comes to production environment, how should we do the deploy?Should it be managed by a job manually started from jenkins? should we update the code in the server and then run the maven task to deploy it in CQ? or should we just package the code in AUT and upload it into production server?I look for the right option to do it, I would really appreciate if you can provide some guidelines about that.Thanks in advance!
