Workfront

Hello, We have people post their travel time on projects to a task on their task list. We don't bill our clients for travel time. I have a custom form that lists total budget hours, then a field that subtracts the actual hours posted to the project to show their remaining budget on their dashboard, but I cannot figure out how to pull out or separate/remove the hours posted to a task where the "source" is Travel Time. Task List Hour Type = Task TimeSource = Travel Time Just need a way to have a field that takes Actual Hours Posted to the project minus any Travel Time Hours posted so that I can show actual budget hours remaining. Hoping someone can help? ...and unfortunately no, I don't have fusion. Thank you!

I've got a report that shows how long it's taking our account managers to convert a request to a project. The "Time to Convert" column was created in text mode:displayname=Time to Convert linkedname=direct querysort=entryDate valueexpression=ROUND(DATEDIFF({entryDate},{actualStartDate}),2) valueformat=HTMLI don't get an "average" option for the column, like I do if I use a standard column selected from the drop down. Is there any way to display the average for the column other than exporting to Excel? I'm using groupings based on the different account managers, if that makes any difference. Thanks.

This may be a silly question, but we are in the process of renewing our Workfront agreement. With that comes the switch to the new license/ access levels, and I am trying to get clarification on what the Contributor access level will be able to do. It's mostly spelled out in the documentation, but I need to know specifically if users with the free Contributor access level will be able to see, be tagged in, and make comments on projects?

Hi! I have a project report that I want to group by fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).Is it possible to create a grouping to organize projects by their Actual Start Date, which each sub-group being an FY? There does not seem to be a default, so is this a text-mode thing? Other things to note:We do not use financials.Our projects do have an FY23/FY24/F25 at the beginning of each project name.

Hello - One of our users is trying to drag and drop documents into their request and each time they try to do it the document tries to download instead of being uploaded into Workfront.  I tired to drag and drop the same document into the same request and it worked for me, but when she tries it will not drag and drop but tries to download the document.  Any thoughts on why this might be happening for this user when we have not changed any settings? Also, this feature was working earlier in the week and not sure why it's not working now.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

I've been looking and found a few older posts that had text code that was supposedly going to work in achieving this, but I have had no luck. At the moment they only wish to see these projects, so that they are aware of what is going on in their team. I don't know that they will want to manage these at any time, and I know that a project can be updated for that purpose. right now, I just want to build a report, or even a filter, that allows this user to see only what is shared with them. Thank you for your help.

I am looking for text mode filtering that will allow me to pull a project report for all projects containing a specific task. Specifically, - Pull all projects that have a task id which contains "wireframe"- I can't pull a project report and filter by task name because I want to account for all the tasks and assignments in those projects that contain a wireframe task- I'd like to pull a report for completed projects and a report for current projectsThank you,Brenda

Hello This is my second time creating a Help request queue. The first is working correctly and I referenced the first when creating the second. Currently the second is not appearing in the drop down on the requests page and when I use the direct link I get the following error "Error The request queue is no longer available". How do you customize the logo and logon appearance for WF? 

Hi folks - I am looking for advice/suggestions more than anything in about the best practice for splitting up my Workfront instance.We are expanding and onboarding other brands and business units from within our organisation. Our Groups and Companies set up is currently quite duplicative and I am wondering how best to utilise them so we can separate areas of the system. We will have certain areas that need to be restricted to the brands/business units that will utilise them and other areas that all users will need access to. Just wondering if anyone has any best practice or suggestions on how they have done this successfully?Thanks in advance! 

I have created a request queue project and I am trying to be able to have people add to the request queue in the left tab within a project and have the request go to that request queue project AND stay in the project. I have been using routing rules, queue topics etc to achieve both of these separately, but cannot find a way to make workfront follow two routing rules.  Things I have tried:- two routing rules (Stay in Project rule and Go to Issues Project rule). One set as default routing in queue details. - two routing rules (Stay in Project rule and Go to Issues Project rule). No default routing in queue details. - Queue Topics set up as part of request queue with the Go to Issues Project Rule as the Routing Rule. (Stay in Project Rule as queue details default)

Hi all,I’m trying to build a report that shows how many projects were open/active at a specific point in time (for example, how many were active on January 1st, 2024).The issue I'm running into is that filtering by status only gives me the current state of the project. That means I’m missing projects that were active at that time but are now complete or dead. The only other data I have to work with are the start and end dates, and I'm not sure how to use those to create a snapshot for a past date. It would be nice if we could group my month but I'm open to manual changes or prompts to get the data for each month. Has anyone figured out how to approach this kind of reporting in Workfront?Thanks in advance!

Hello. I am making a report that needs to list how many of each job role is attached to a project.The problem is that one project can have multiple tasks assigned to the same person that has a job role. So is there any way to count unique job roles per project? 

Is it possible to display numeric values with comma separators in both input custom fields and the associated calculated fields for better readability?Currently, when users update the underlying custom fields multiple times after saving the input form, the calculated fields do not reflect these changes dynamically. Is there a way to auto-refresh the calculated fields to reflect the latest updates without requiring an additional save? 

Hi, I was looking at a project report that contained a column for "Actual Hours" and noticed that the column has been renamed to "Legacy Actual Hours". I also noticed that there are now two fields in the report builder: 1. Legacy Actual Hours2. Actual HoursThe release notes do state that there was a change coming to the Actual Hours field but it wasn't going to happen until later in 2025.  There was no mention of any impacts to current reporting functionality. I wish they wouldve communicated this change so I could update the column names on views and reports.  Now Im sure I'll get some questions from my user base regarding this new field.

Hello folks! Can the Stage settings options be displayed, when creating New proof version, by default instead of having to click > to display?Users want to be able to see the Deadline options dates easily.These dates are not integrated with the Workfront project deadline.Please see pics.

Hi Community,I have a proof where two of the users have marked the stage as not relevant to them, but their proof status shows that they've commented, which they haven't. Is that normal? I've never noticed that before. Thanks! 

Hi All, I have a project created with a set of tasks. I had updated duration, planned hours and assigned the tasks to an agile team. Once the tasks were assigned to the agile team, those tasks were showing up in the team's backlog. When I added few tasks from the backlog to one of the iterations, the duration of the tasks in the tasks list in the Project page got updated to very large numbers (57 days) whereas the original duration i had updated is very less ( 1 Day). Not sure why this is happening. How to retain the original duration of the task after it is getting assigned to an iteration. Please provide your inputs. Thanks in advance.

Hi,  We are in the process of building comma separated values calculated fields to map to AEM tags. Currently there are multiple fields from Workfront that need to be mapped to one AEM Tags.  In Workfront we have multiple fields for Audience, Channel & Social Identity but in AEM, those values are combined in tags. Hello community! I am hoping to create a report that shows the Oldest task in a project (i.e. the FIRST task). We would like to track projects that take more than one sprint to complete and currently, we track the sprint ID on each task with a custom field.It would be okay if this is 2 reports but ideally it would be: Project Names | Oldest Task Name | Oldest Task Due Date | Oldest Task custom field | Newest Task Name | Newest Task Dues Date | Newest Task Custom field the tasks could also be on 2 lines for each project, I don't mind.

I am creating a task report to enable project owners to bulk update task statuses and I need a column on the report that shows what the next task on the applicable project is. I am not looking for the next ready to start task - what I need is for the project owners to be able to see what the next task up is going to be before they mark the existing open task as complete. The report is already pulling in just the current ready to start task on a set of projects.  I am assuming that this would be a text mode field but I'm not having any luck figuring out the syntax I need.
