I am new to Marketo, and amazed at its abilities, but there is one reporting feature I think is missing. I'm a previous Bronto user, and one of the most useful reports was Highest Click/Open based on day of the week.
I've been banging my head for the past several hours and finally broke down and called Marketo support. We need to track click activity on a Marketo landing page. The use case is an RSVP page with an "Accept" button and a "Decline" button. Based on what link the user clicks, they will either receive a confirmation email or be sent to a "sorry you can't attend" landing page. Apparently this is not possible. At this time, there is no way to use the trigger "Clicks link on web page" when Marketo landing pages are being used.
It would be nice if we had the option to say that an email shouldn't count toward communication limits. It's useful to be able to say that we should ignore communication limits, but if we ignore communication limits then we're still adding to the weekly tally of the number of emails a person has received in a week. As of now, our only option is to up our communication limits, or rearrange the order in which we do our weekly sends to prevent this issue.
Currently, Marketo strips out any HTML5 attributes/elements that are placed in a rich text editor, be it on a landing page or in a token. While I realize that using HTML5 can be problematic in a few instances (especially when there's a lack of a Modernizr.js or equivalent fallback), it would be nice to have the following available:HTML5 form attributesDownload attributeDetails and summary elements
Looking to utilize the "Click Link in Email" option within a flow to send specific emails to individuals based off specific email link clicks from a previous email. This option currently allows the email to be selected but not the link within the email.
When importing lists, if an email address contains spaces after the address, it will be included in the import, causing the email to be invalid. Would like to see Marketo automatically remove these spaces during the list import. I realize there are ways to manually do this but this would just make it so much easier and lessen the risk for invalid email addresses. When I used to develop web applications in my prior career, there was a very useful function that we used when importing contact information (including form submits) into SQL Server. We simply applied a TRIM function to the email address that striped out any spaces before or after the address. For example "TRIM(email address)". I'm sure every application platform has this feature (ASP, PHP, etc.).
Minor inconvenience but an inconvenience nonetheless. Marketo used to auto-fill the "Title" field when editing a link in an email or a landing page, based on previous entries in that field.
I think many of us get false hope when we see a "we like it" status for Ideas in the community. Especially when some of the most voted on ideas - like subscribing to smart lists - have a "we like it" status, yet are several years old. I think it would set better expectations if a "we're working on it" was added to the list of statuses.
