In the world of marketing automation, data is everything. But not all data is created equal—especially when it comes to list imports in Marketo Engage. If you've ever wondered what the difference is between a trusted and untrusted list import, you're not alone. Understanding this distinction is key to maintaining data integrity, compliance, and campaign performance. What Are List Imports in Marketo? List imports are one of the most common ways marketers bring external data into Marketo—whether it's leads from a tradeshow, webinar registrations, or from external systems. But how that data is treated once it enters your instance depends on whether the import is marked as trusted or untrusted. Trusted List Imports A trusted list import is one where the data source is considered reliable and compliant with your organization’s data policies. These imports typically come from: First-party sources Known partners or integrations Internal teams with verified

Applications frequently face scenarios where the single standard datastream setup isn't sufficient to meet specific use case requirements. Whether it's refining data consumption, integrating custom processing logic within mobile apps, or managing the mobile app code release cycle, adjustments are often necessary. This discussion explores methods for modifying and overriding default datastream configurations by leveraging Data Collection (Tags), eliminating reliance on the mobile app code push cycle. As a result, updates to the datastream override can be implemented rapidly without going through the mobile app release process. The key benefit is the ability to configure datastream overrides at the Data Collection (Tags) level, rather than within the mobile app itself. Additional Use Cases: There are various scenarios where your app may require adjustments to its datastream or dataset override configuration. In this blog, I will highlight a few key use cases to demonstrate when and
10 Unique Marketo Token Use Cases You Might Not Be Using Tokens in Marketo are one of those features that seem simple on the surface, but the more you work with them, the more powerful they become. Most teams use them for basic personalization (like adding a first name in an email), but that barely scratches the surface. With a little creativity, tokens can save hours of work, reduce errors, and make your campaigns more scalable. Here are 10 unique and practical token use cases you might not be using yet. At their core, Smart Campaigns are rule-based workflows that allow marketers to automate actions such as sending emails, updating data fields, scoring leads, or triggering notifications.Think of them as the "if this, then that" engine of Marketo. Here are some common use cases: 1. Dynamic CTA Text in EmailsTired of rewriting the same button across multiple emails? Store your CTA text as a program token. Update it once and it changes everywhere. It’s also an easy way to test variations
Have you ever used Marketo Engage Program Member Custom Fields? How about syncing Program Member Custom Fields (PMCFs) to Salesforce Campaign Member Fields (CMFs)? Yeah, that’s a mouthful. In this blog post, we’ll cover the specifics of how PMCFs sync to CMFs, some key considerations, and expected behavior so you can take advantage of this new powerful feature. Pre-Requisites Enable the Salesforce Campaign Sync in Marketo Admin Create Program Member Custom Fields in Marketo Create Campaign Member Custom Fields in Salesforce – NOTE! These fields would live on the Campaign Member Object, not the Campaign Object. Think of it this way: the Campaign Member Object contains data pertaining to the Campaign Member Record (i.e. the Lead or Contact), whereas the Campaign Object has fields that relate to the Campaign itself. Setting Up the Sync With the above complete, you can now map Marketo Program Member Custom Fields to Salesforce Campa

Hi everyone- Scenario: We use Workfront's queue feature as our intake form to manage our incoming project requests. Users from outside our organization submit via the queue, and we then turn them into project plans. There are a few fields which are crucial to our project maintenance, but are not fields we wish for those filling out the form to dictate. One example would be a rich text field that we use for "status updates". I am an admin, so created an admin only section with these additional fields, but I am realizing that my users can't see the content of it, nor can they edit the fields. Typically, we go over our workload using the report, and along the way, we add notes into this status update field. Has anyone found an easy way to integrate necessary custom fields without making them forward facing on the form that does not limit view and edit access to admins only?
Welcome to the latest Expert Insights! I’m Cynthia Boon, your “On-Demand” Workfront CSM and for this episode we have Workfront Text Mode Jedi, Katherine Lanning @katherinela, Workfront Solutions Engineer from IQVIA! During this episode, Katherine shares her story, her passion for all things Text Mode Reporting, and demos how she built her “Sanity Management” Dashboard! Check out the video here! Text Mode can be challenging, but the rewards are amazing. Just remember Katherine’s advice! “If you can see it, you can change it.” Flip into text mode on standard reports to see how columns are built. Learn by tinkering. Add fields, switch to text mode, and experiment to understand what drives the data. Use plain language. Title columns as questions or clear statements so non-admins can interpret them easily. Add descriptions. Customize hover text in text mode to explain data and guide users. Make
Hi Team, Initially, the code worked as expected without using the embed property, while running on AMS AEM 6.5 (exact service pack version unknown). We are using the org.apache.sling.servlet-helpers dependency, which is correctly declared in the pom.xml. However, we suddenly encountered an issue with the target sync functionality. Upon debugging, we discovered that the servlet-helpers JAR was missing. The JAR is not visible in the AEM console or listed among the active bundles. To resolve this, we applied the embed property to include the JAR under the /apps folder. Unfortunately, this workaround has led to Sonar issues related to the dependency. We are currently using AEM version 6.5.21. The servlet-helpers JAR is available in AEM as a Cloud Service, but it appears to be missing in AEM 6.5. We're unsure whether it was replaced or bundled within another JAR. Is it acceptable to manually install the JAR via the AEM console under bundles, or is there a recommended way to
How do we design and discover audiences which should be federated? Federated Audience Composition (FAC) enables the use of audiences built from decentralized data residing outside the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) alongside those created with data residing inside AEP. It makes previously inaccessible enterprise data in warehouses actionable in engagement workflows, by creating new audiences and enriching existing audiences without the need to copy the underlying raw data into AEP. Deciding what data should be federated versus ingested is crucial to unlocking the full potential of Federated Audience Composition (FAC). A comprehensive plan of which data sets should reside in enterprise data warehouse vs those in AEP will help accelerate implementation of use cases and time to market. This is where Addressable and Engageable Audience Maps, a structured approach to discover and design audiences come to the rescue. Before diving into Audience Maps, let's distinguish between addressa

In our last Edge Data Collection Concepts blog, we introduced the concept of the data object as a flexible and schema-free method to collect data for Adobe Experience Cloud solutions. In this post, we'll dive deeper into how you can use the data object to implement Adobe Analytics. Whether you're migrating from AppMeasurement.js or starting fresh with Web SDK, the data object offers a straightforward method of implementation. When configured as discussed below, the data object will contain values immediately recognizable to Analytics and to implementers of Analytics. If you previously set s.eVar1 to a value of "foo", setting data.__adobe.analytics.eVar1 to "foo" achieves the same result and can be done very simply in the Tags interface similarly to how those values can be set when using AppMeasurement. Implementing the Data Object The data object starts as an empty variable, and we can build up and clear values with each of our rules in a way that is similar to how we set

As you read on, you might think I’ve contrived a situation with an infinitesimal chance of happening in real life, just for the love of blogging. But this just happened to a user who posted on the Nation! So here’s the weirdest Marketo Forms factoid you may ever learn: if the 20th field added to a form has an empty name, you’ll get this generic error on submit: And inspecting the HTTP 400 response shows: { "message" : "checksum invalid", "error" : true, "errorCode" : "400" } Hold on, a form field can have an empty name??? Well, no. An <input name> and <input name=""> are both prohibited by the HTML standard. A native HTML <form> submit will not send values for those inputs. But while Marketo forms use standard HTML <input> elements — a very good thing, I always take care to say! — the data that goes on the wire is assembled using JS. (Most modern forms do this.) The Forms 2.0 API lets you add a hidden field with an emp
Hello, We are currently on AEM 6.5 and planning Cloud Migration. Noticed that new Cloud onboardings are based on Java 21. So, if we move to Cloud directly, we would not have Managed Services support for Java 21 migration. Wondering if we should move Java 21 with 6.5 LTS and then plan for Cloud. Any suggestions? Specially for Assets with Asset Share Any feedback on challenges faced in Java 21 migration?
ResourceFilterStream: An Optimized Alternative to Query Builder in AEM by @mayursatav Introduction Efficiently querying content is a fundamental challenge in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). While the Query Builder is a powerful and widely used tool, it can become a performance bottleneck when dealing with large result sets, potentially leading to high memory consumption and slow response times. The ResourceFilterStream offers a highly optimized, server-side alternative for filtering resources, providing a memory-efficient and often faster solution for specific use cases. Understanding when and how to leverage ResourceFilterStream can significantly improve the performance and stability of your AEM application. Key points For developers building scalable AEM solutions, optimizing content queries is crucial. ResourceFilterStream provides a powerful tool for filtering large resource trees without the memory over

We had a great session at our Chicago office as we hosted the AEM Midwest Chapter's 9th meeting in the community! Held last Thursday, 9/18, we enjoyed deep-dish pizza (a real Chicago treat!) and beverages and had a great discussion with other partners on a topic that everyone's talking about: AI. Although I was the main speaker that brought the topics, there were plenty of questions from our attendees including Eric from Huge, Jake from Bounteous, and Celinah from Perficient. That made the discussion both collaborative and informative, which is exactly what we're trying to achieve with these meetings. 👉A couple of Highlights from what we discussed: Everyone is eager to explore the possibilities of using Agentic AI, particularly with Sites Optimizer and LLM Optimizer Everyone has a wish-list of items they'd like to see incorporated into practical use of AI Assistants in Cloud Manager Generative AI is a super-cool feature, and seeing it incorporated
I need expert input - we develop multipage court forms that on the last page have three buttons, Print, Save, and Clear. These buttons are in the footer of a master page. We have them set to Visible (Screen Only), but they show up in print. We don't want them to. Must we move them to content pages to achieve this? Thanks!
