5 things: Creating a custom component [ cq:design_dialog] by Anmol Bhardwaj Abstract So, we have already created a dialog for the component, and we have also discussed the differences between a normal dialog and a design dialog. Now, let’s create a design dialog as well for the component, and see the noticeable differences. How to create/develop a design dialog? The syntax remains 99.9% the same with the exception of the root node, which would now be “cq:design_dialog” instead of a “cq:dialog”. Also, the steps are exactly the same as #24. How to author a design dialog? To author a design dialog of a component, you need to move from a component level to a page or template level, as that is what it’s for essentially. So, naturally, it is present when we edit a template or add the policy for a component. Let’s go through that. Create a design dialog. For the sake of comparison, I will use the same exact .xml code or node structure that I used in the cq:dialog. You already have the cod
AEM Architect Certification Series: Single Page Application (SPA) by Monendra Singh Abstract Introduction: Sites built using common SPA frameworks such as React and Angular load their content via dynamic JSON and do not provide the HTML structure that is necessary for the AEM Page Editor to be able to place edit controls. To enable the editing of SPAs within AEM, a mapping between the JSON output of the SPA and the content model in the AEM repository is needed to save changes to the content. Basic SPA Editor Workflow Keeping in mind the key elements of the SPA Editor, the high-level workflow of editing a SPA within AEM appears to the author as follows. Please refer this article for more details. SPA Editor loads. SPA is loaded in a separate frame. SPA requests JSON content and renders components client-side. SPA Editor detects rendered components and generates overlays. Author clicks overlay, displaying the component’s edit toolbar. SPA Editor persists edits with a POST request to
Exporting AEM Experience Fragment/Page Content for A/B Testing and External Systems without HTML Tags by Kiran Sg Abstract Problem Statement: How to export experience fragment or page content from author to: Adobe Target or any other application similar to Target without HTML Head/Body tags just component content for A/B Testing or targeting etc. Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe Campaign system without HTML Head/Body tags Non-AEM sister sites are to be used as an iframe content. Introduction: If you are using an A/B Testing tool or when you are using SFMC for an email campaigning system in your project and you want to export Experience fragment or Page content to the external system using HTTP Post request. Adding the entire HTML content (which includes the head, body etc.) on the existing page would negatively impact the accessibility score and page performance. Usually with the above use case people follow exporting HTML content from AEM involves sending an HTTP request to the
We have created custom scheduled activation workflow but we are getting com.adobe.granite.workflow.core.job.TimeoutHandler WorkItem does not exist When I schedule publish later or unpublish later alone then it works fine but when do schedule publish and schedule unpublish simultaneously (schedule publish first and unscheduled publish later). I mean in workflow instances I can see both workflows but after executing schedule publish what happens is unscheduled workflow is getting aborted with error com.adobe.granite.workflow.core.job.TimeoutHandler WorkItem does not exist
We are looking at the ScriptReference component documentation https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-65/administering/personalization/segmentation.html?lang=en#defining-a-script-to-reference In here it provides an example script and states that if properly configured, then when creating an audience and using the ScriptReference component, the dropdown should automatically contain the registered scripts. In a AEM 6.5 out of the box install, one can find the the sample script setup and configured under http://localhost:4502/crx/de/index.jsp#/libs/cq/contexthub/code/kernel/segment-engine/comparison-scripts However, when adding the ScriptReference component to the page for defining the segment, the dropdown is empty. The documentation doesn't indicate anything other than specifying the correct clientlib name which is setup with the out of the box example. Is there a step missing here that we are not seeing ? Thanks,Nikhil Patel.
Two key differences exist when using Analytics reports for activity results examination in traditional Adobe Analytics versus Customer Journey Analytics. The first key distinction is that traditional AA analyzes Adobe Target data using the A4T Panel, whereas CJA analyzes Target data using the Experimentation Panel. Adobe Analytics for Target (A4T) is a cross-solution integration that allows users to create activities based on Analytics conversion metrics and audience segments. The Experimentation Panel enables analysts to compare user experiences, marketing, or messaging variations to identify the best option for driving a specific outcome. Using the Experimentation Panel, analysts can evaluate the lift and confidence of any A/B experiment from any experimentation platform - online, offline, from Adobe Solutions, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and even BYO (bring-your-own) data. However, leveraging the A4T integration to use Analytics reports for results examination poses one significant lim
How you present your data matters. As a data analyst, it is important to determine which tools are most appropriate for the story you are trying to tell your audience. Incorporating data visualizations, graphs, infographics, charts, and tables can help to convey and drive a story home. However, the visualizations you use, or don’t use, can make all the difference when it comes to decision-making outcomes. Visuals catch attention and are processed 60x faster than text. As a result, it is important that the visualization is direct, meaningful, and intuitive. Meaning, your audience can effectively and efficiently interpret the visualization and understand its value. How to Build: Using Lab Prototypes in Adobe Analytics, you can leverage the Visualization Recommender. This prototype recommends visualizations that pair well with your data. All you must do is select the desired metrics and dimensions (up to 10 total). Go to Adobe Analytics > Labs > Visualization Recommender Sel

How to expose Restful Services through JAX-RS(Jersey) in AEM by TechForum Abstract JAX-RS is a specification that provides portable API’s for developing, exposing and accessing web applications designed and implemented in compliance with principals of REST architectural style. JAX-RS has annotations to bind specific URI patterns and HTTP methods to individual methods of your Java code. AEM is driven based on REST principals but there is no direct support for creating Restful services. There are multiple implementations for JAX-RS specifications, this tutorial explains exposing REST based services in AEM through Jersey. Install JAX-RS Jersey modules As a first step, install the JAX-RS Jersey connector to AEM server The connector modules can be downloaded from the following URL — https://search.maven.org/search?q=g:com.eclipsesource.jaxrs, the required modules are jersey-all, publisher and provider-gson Read Full Blog How to expose Restful Services through JAX-RS(Jersey) in AEM Q&

May 2023 Release Notes Check out what's new, improved, and fixed in the latest Adobe Journey Optimizer product release update: Release Notes New capabilities Content Experimentation in campaigns: Adobe Journey Optimizer now supports experiments in campaigns. Experiments are randomized trials, which in the context of online testing, means that you expose some randomly selected users to a given variation of a message, and another randomly selected set of users to some other variation or treatment. After exposure, you can then measure the outcome metrics you are interested in, such as opens of emails, subscriptions, or purchases. Create and use fragments in your email content: You can now author, use, and manage fragments to quickly assemble your emails and content templates. A fragment is a prebuilt reusable component that can be referenced in multiple emails across Journey Optimizer campaigns and journeys for an improved and accelerated design process. Change the Color Palette of Your Dashboard Changing the color palette may be necessary to ensure the accuracy and inclusion of all data points in your visualizations. For instance, if a color in your palette is too light, it may be hard for your audience to interpret your analysis accurately. Change the look of your data visualizations by using the Project Color Palette. Use pre-configured color palettes for your project, or create a custom color palette. For instance, below are the HEX codes for the colors I’d like to use for this dashboard: Black: #000000 Red: #FF0000 Blue: #0000FF Gold: #FFD700 How to Build: Go to Workspace > Create Project > Project > Project Info and Settings Go to Project Info and Settings > Project Color Palette Go to Project Color Palette > Custom Palette Update the View of Your Freeform Tables Properly formatted, intuitive Freeform tables will enable your organization to identify, assess, and derive actionable insights. The three “
Activity Map is an Adobe Analytics application that is designed to rank link activity using visual overlays and provide a dashboard of real-time analytics to monitor audience engagement of your web pages. Activity Map bases its link tracking on these two IDs: Primary ID: this is the recognizable parameter of the link. Link Region: this is a secondary parameter that allows users to specify a string that is representative of the overall link area in the page or region. This parameter can be automatically generated if it is not provided by the user. The Link Region value is not set on the link itself, but on one HTML element up the DOM HTML tree that encompasses that region. How to Build: Leveraging the subsequent Workspace variables, we can better understand link engagement: Dimension Description Activity Map Page Lists the pages on which a link was clicked. Activity Map Region Lists all collected link regions across the whole web site. Note that if
How to Build To create a scoring system, it is imperative to identify all key activities that show engagement on your site and assign a point system to each activity. For instance, one government agency uses the following KPIs to score visitor engagement: · Blog Views: Page view or bounce is the most basic way to look at this metric. Capturing information on session duration can also prove valuable. Consider assigning a higher score to a lead that signs up for the latest news updates, a lower score for visitors who have read at least one article, and an even lower score for those who bounce after landing on any blog page. · Internal Searches: Internal search is used onsite to help visitors locate the information they are looking for, as tracking internal searches of engaged visitors tells you what content is needed to best serve them. By tracking visitors primary search terms and search page results, we can b

Overview Data can be one of the most valuable assets a company has, but not all data is inherently valuable. The quality of the data quality affects business decisions and ability for team members to act. Companies should audit the state of their data and proactively support data quality and address issues promptly so their teams can make use of the institutional data. In this blog I'll share what data quality it is and how to start assessing and managing it in Marketo Engage. Elements of Data Quality The term “data quality” refers to how well the data can be used by a business for its intended purpose. For example, the marketing team regularly uses data points (fields and their values) for audience targeting and campaign reporting. There are many elements within the concept of data quality. The same data point may be considered “high quality” according to one aspect, but “low quality” according to another, so all elements should be considered before making a judgment. &n

I am currently using the Workload balancer to assign my users using the bulk assignment tool, which has been helpful; however, the way that our roles are configured it is conducive to allow for automation. For example, task 1 is assigned to Brand Manager I and task 2 is assigned to Brand Manager II, so there is no overlap and the system easily make that designation. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out on my own how to get the system to automatically assign the users to the tasks. Each user is assigned a role and each template has the appropriate role(s) identified for the tasks. Has anyone been successful in setting up automation for their projects in a standard business license? Any recommendations? TIA! Danica
From WorkList, I can click on a task to work on it. I open the task and notice I require Project access to locate assets that are not in my tasks and there is no link to Project from the task. I then have to find an email about the project and click on that to reach a prompt to request access. This was not the case in the old views I had (MyWork), but that is no longer available.
Hello,Disclaimer* I'm not a developer so apologies if I violate any taboos or don't say things correctly! AEM Assets 6.5.15. We are having an issue where our offtime event handler is looping over the same assets that reached offtime since April 28 2023 (this happens to be at least 2000 assets). I've stabilized the system by taking the functionality out of the workflow triggered, however it is still looping every 15 min triggered by the event handler in question. The function is to unpublish assets from Brand Portal when offtime is reached. We aren't using the OOTB offtime service as it had caused issues originally. This event handler has worked for over a year and there were no code changes for months. We did upgrade from 6.5.8 to 6.5.15 in Feb, but only noticed this problem over the last couple weeks. It does not happen on lower environments. The loop seems limited to 1000 assets at a time. If we delete affected assets it moves on to other ones waiting in the
