Authors: Jim Snyder, Arava Sai Kumar, and Kimberly Leung (@kimberlyl468851) This post explores how we select the best attribution model in a data-driven way using Adobe’s Attribution Lift Measure (ALM). This approach avoids the need for expensive experiments or simulations to evaluate the effectiveness of both traditional rules-based and sophisticated machine-learning-based attribution models. Marketing teams frequently use attributional models to understand what marketing investments like campaigns and advertisements deserve credit for conversions, such as purchasing a product. These models work by assigning a fraction of credit to each advertisement (or marketing touchpoint) along their consumers’ journeys. With this information, marketers can better design future campaigns, bid efficiently on advertising space, and optimize their marketing spend to maximize return on investment. There is one caveat here. The ability to do this effectively depends significantly on the marketer’s ch
Authors: Christopher Hoffmann (@cdhoffmann) and Jiabin Geng (@shalehaha) In this blog, we give you the step by step tutorial on how you can build a mobile widget with Apple’s WidgetKit and Adobe Experience Platform Mobile SDKs. With the launch of iOS 14, Apple has introduced various new technologies. One such technology is WidgetKit, which gives developers the API to create their own home screen widgets on iOS. Widgets present relevant information at a glance and can be pinned in different sizes on any home screen page. Widgets are a great opportunity to provide another means of engagement for users. Users can interact with widgets by simply tapping them to be taken into the corresponding application via a deep link. They can also be made user-configurable to allow users to personalize them. With this, Widgets add a layer of customization that will allow users to spice up their home screens, while also providing users with relevant information and a quick access point into the correspo
Author: Jaemi Bremner (@Jaemi_Bremner), Baubak Gandomi. This is an article about a view we have adopted at Adobe Campaign regarding the tests we write, and how this helps writing end-to-end tests in enterprise software. At first, we set out like most people to write a set of tests that tested our application. The problem we discovered is that, at least in our case, applications no longer work alone, and in many enterprise applications your product is usually part of a bigger whole. This means that there are other teams that will need to write scenarios that pass through your product. We decided on adopting a design and methodology, we call Test-as-a-Product, that allows people outside of your team to use your tests in their scenarios. This approach had a lot of consequences, which led to a new discipline we now call “Test-as-a-Product” in writing tests. This article will share these insights. I hope it will help you in designing your frameworks and libraries. Design over Technology I

One common question is : how do I restrain some records from flowing from SFDC to Marketo when that cannot be handled with simple Salesforce sharing rules. For instance, making sure that inactive contacts or even contacts without emails do not pack into the Marketo DB and count against the licence. The answer is often to add a "Sync with Marketo" field and use it to filter out some records. But the devil is in the details, so we ran a comprehensive test on how the "Sync with Marketo" really works and came back with a few interesting findings.Finding #1: the only value of the field that matters is the one from SFDC.I had read it already from Support, but, as St Thomas, we did some testing to verify it: if the field have a value on SFDC and another one in Marketo, on a same lead / contact, the value that determines whether or not the sync will happen is the one from SFDC. So if the field is set to "True" in SFDC, it will sync, otherwise it will not, whatever the value of the field in Mark

I keep forgetting to post this, but today it was particularly annoying. Why do we have have to have the tab ACTIVE in order to get the data to display and load? I typically open Workspace and then launch different reports into separate tabs in my browser, but the Workspace doesn't load until I actually navigate to that tab. Why am I not able to load your tabs in the background like so many other sites? This is super annoying when I'm trying to open multiple reports at one time and trying to SAVE time!

Author: JB Creusat The Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK (AEP Web SDK) is now available and brings significant performance improvements but also changes in terms of data collection. One of the first questions is whether Visitor identification will be impacted. In this article, we will explain how the migration to the AEP Web SDK works and how to plan. While the different libraries required by Adobe Analytics, Target and Audience Manager are being replaced by a single SDK, the Experience Cloud ID (ECID) remains as the way to identify your visitors. The VisitorAPI.js is no more longer required when you are using the AEP Web SDK. If you are using Adobe Launch, you will simply remove the ECID Extension and check the box for the ECID migration in your AEP Web SDK Extension. One pre-requisite for this simple migration is that your implementation is fully on the ECID. If you are not sure, a first test is to compare Unique Visitors against Visitors with Experience Cloud ID. With Adobe Launch

Author: Jaemi Bremner In this article, we would look at a very simple demonstration of how we can use the linear regression model to predict the estimated revenue based on the number of texts sent out in Adobe Analytics and would compare the calculations using sklearn. In this digital age, businesses are collecting huge amounts of data to gain insights about their customers, serve them with relevant content, and to optimize their business. One key part of optimization is to make the best use of the marketing spend on the most influential channels based on the impact each channel/touchpoint has on a conversion. One way to align the marketing spend for different campaigns is to get their impact on conversion and try adjusting the spend for all channels such that the conversions are high. Businesses use multiple statistical approaches to attain this level of optimization. Adobe Analytics helps us with some out of the box metrics which makes the life easier for a marketer to use thes
