Problem Statement: Are you facing issue on author instance where preview of DITA asset is not rendering correctly and this happens on asset details page ? Do you see the html encoding rather than actual page UI - Refer the the screenshot below. Precondition: Do you have dispatcher set up on your author instance? If yes, the below solution can help you in resolving this issue. Remedy: It could be because of the missing configuration. You should need to enable the mime type for DITA files. Here are the additional details: Ditamap and Dita topics shown in Assets UI have to be rendered with Content-Type “text/html”. So to have this work correctly in case a Dispatcher is setup in front of Author, please do following: Connect server via ssh and browse to httpd.conf and check the path for file “mime.types” file (it could be in /etc/mime.types or /conf/mime.types) Edit mime.types file and Search for “text/html” the default value string for this w

AEM as a Cloud Service - Part 1 by lhotsetechnologies Abstract AEM as a Cloud Service – Part 1 Some of the Benefits of moving to AEMaaCS As per Adobe documentation, AEM as a Cloud Service provides a continuous delivery pipeline for the AEM codebase using CI/CD pipeline. It provides automatic updates with zero downtime. This gives an advantage of keeping you on the most recent version. It will deliver content quickly and efficiently, by using a built-in Content Delivery Network (CDN). It also uses automated tests to scan for common vulnerabilities. How to update code for AEMaaCS deprecated features? OSGi bundles and settings must be repository-based:- In AEMaaCS Felix Console access is not available, so no configuration can be done using system/console. So configuration must be a part of the codebase for AEMaaCS. These configurations will be auto-deployed when the codebase is build. Custom runmodes are not allowed:- In earlier AEM versions, we can have multiple runmodes as per our ne

QR Code generator component for Adobe AEM / CQ5 by Yuri Simione Abstract I like so much Adobe AEM: it is very easy to customize this product and make our customers happier. Moreover, Adobe AEM is based on a wonderful stack: it is easier to work on a state of art technology: Apache Jackrabbit OAK, Apache Sling, Apache Felix and the most important layer, Adobe AEM are so well integrated and very powerful technologies. A new customer requirement A customer asked me to create a new Adobe AEM component to generate on the fly QR Code images. The functional requirement is pretty simple: the author wants to add a QR Code that "renders" the current url page url. Occasionally the author wants to create a QR Code to an external Url or different page. QR Code are very useful because with a smartphone or tablet, everyone can scan the QR Code from a monitor and continue the browsing far from the desktop or far from a digital. In addition, if the end user print the page that contains a QR Code, it
Getting the most out of Headless CMS by Josh van Tonder Abstract There has never been a wider variety of digital channels through which consumers can access information and content. While this is great for the consumer, and has given businesses the opportunity to greatly expand their reach, it has also put a lot of pressure on brands to deliver more content, faster. Brands are expected to provide satisfying, cohesive and app-like experiences across these channels. That’s a big ask for businesses using legacy or disparate content management systems (CMS) that often keep content locked in channel specific silos. One response to this has been headless content management. The arrival of “headless” has given brands a new tool in their toolbox to help address omnichannel delivery. By separating content from the presentation layer, assets can be reused widely. Headless-capable CMSs have back-end content repositories that push content to desired channels over APIs using JSON, in a channel a

I work 90% of my time in Tags in AEM. The 6.5 upgrade greatly degraded the functionality and usability of tags. Tags are not alphabetical OOTB, it takes multiple clicks to see the status of a tag (published, deactivated, unpublished), unable to view a clean list of references or export a list of references where tag was applied, unable to view tags in a tree or list, unable to search tags in omnisearch unless in page properties applying tags. I have to manage them in Excel and then upload. I have to conduct a querybuilder to create an export to create custom views of the tags. It's a huge headache and incredibly manual. Why were Tags ignored in the 6.5 upgrade, is there a planned upgrade to bring back the functionality that was available in Classic?

Setting Up Adobe I/O CLI for Cloud Manager by Adobe Tech Blog Abstract If you are an Adobe Managed Service (AMS) customer, this Cloud Manager plugin for Adobe I/O CLI will come in very handy to interact with the same underlying capabilities exposed through the web UI in a fully programmatic fashion. It also enables you with some additional capabilities like setting up pipeline variables, environment variables, cancel running pipelines etc. With the release of Authenticated Performance Testing support in cloud manager, setting up Adobe I/O CLI is a prerequisite in a order to use this feature. AEM - HTL JavaScript Use-API by AdobeDocs Abstract he HTML Template Langugae (HTL) JavaScript Use-API enables a HTL file to access helper code written in JavaScript. This allows all complex business logic to be encapsulated in the JavaScript code, while the HTL code deals only with direct markup production. A Simple Example We define a component, info , located at /apps/my-example/components/info It contains two files: 1. info.js : a JavaScript file that defines the use-class. 2. info.html : an HTL file that defines the component info . This code will use the functionality of info.js through the use-API. /apps/my-example/component/info/info.js "use strict"; use(function () { var info = {}; info.title = resource.properties["title"]; info.description = resource.properties["description"]; return info; }); Read Full Blog AEM - HTL JavaScript Use-API Q&A Please use this thread to ask the related questions.
At the 2021 Summit, @benjamingaines1981 introduced the websiteBot Plug-In at "Tips & Tricks". The plug-in identifies bot desktop visitors by adding an event listener for mouse movement and assumes that if a "user" doesn't move their mouse, then it's likely a bot. However, users on a website may have accessibility challenges and choose to use a keyboard to navigate (i.e. they may not move their mouse at all). There were a couple comments in the live chat about this concern as well. Is it possible that the Plug-In might incorrectly flag users with accessibility challenges who don't move their mouse? I understand the plug-in isn't a "silver bullet" to clean up all bot reporting, but just wondering if this consideration was baked in. cc @jantzen_b

Succeeding with Adobe Experience Platform by Peter Nash Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way many industries approach their data and their markets. With the advent of machine learning and constantly evolving technology, we are seeing more and more companies apply data science to improve how they go to market and create information-driven experiences for their customers. This is exactly what Adobe is bringing to the table with their recent focus on Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). Experience Platform provides an open system that transforms all your data — Adobe and non-Adobe alike — into robust customer profiles that update in real-time. AEP uses these AI-driven insights to help you to deliver the right experiences, at the right time, across every channel. Notably, Adobe Experience Platform, presents Hoodoo with a great opportunity to expand our offering and improve our solutions for our customers. As a result, we are gearing up to get certified and specialized t
Adobe journey optimizer-realtime omnichannel journeys for better customer interaction by NextRow Digital Abstract Please note that while Adobe Journey Optimizer is expected to be released later in 2021, we have only been given a “roadmap” without any commitment to this specific application or its related features. Whether you’re still catching up on sessions or watching highlights from Adobe Summit 2021, you’re sure to hear or read about Adobe Journey Optimizer. This Adobe Experience Platform Application will be a centralized app “that helps brands to easily identify, create, and deliver the next best interaction,” according to Anjul Bhambhri, SVP Adobe Experience Cloud. Bhambhri’s description, in addition to the few related sessions, is enough to excite most anyone in the martech space, but there isn’t a lot of information on AJO available as of now. Based on what we do know, here is a general overview of what we hope to see when the application is released and why this tool is suc
Exadel Authoring Kit for Adobe Experience Manager Version 2 Makes AEM Authoring Easier by Exadel Abstract Winter is over, and so is the wait for the new release of Exadel’s authoring solution for Adobe Experience Manager. Yes, we’ve rebranded the AEM Authoring Toolkit for a new release. The AEM Authoring Toolkit was one of our flagship projects for the AEM ecosystem, and the Authoring Kit will remain one, too. But now it’s also a proud member of the Exadel Toolbox family – and, in some respects, an ambassador of the Toolbox for our long-term customers and supporters. We even continue to call it ToolKit informally. As a part of Exadel Toolbox, the Authoring Kit delivers an even better experience for AEM developers, content authors, and business folk. All the Exadel Toolbox solutions work in harmony and are going to be integrated where rea
