Hi AEP community, Running Adobe Experience Platform at scale is exciting — but often harder than the demos suggest. From broken identities to segmentation limits, teams in banking, retail, and travel keep hitting the same walls. Let’s share what’s really working (and not) in production. Identity & Profile Stitching – brittle glue Upstream systems creating same hash IDs for orignaal uniqe identifiers like email etc, and suddenly two customers become one (or vice versa). 👉 How do you validate identities before they reach AEP? Event vs. Profile – one profile, many events Personalization often needs event-level behaviour joined with attributes (“did X three times in 7 days AND lives in Y”). 👉 How are you modeling event vs. profile data to make this practical? Segmentation Logic – when the UI hits limits SQL-heavy teams often struggle to express complex business rules in PQL/Segment Builder. 👉 Do you prototype in Query Service first, t
Hi team!Below a challenge, which one of you potentially has a solution for. Curious, and thanks in advance!!ChallengeAs a Workfront admin I want to create a custom field on a sub-task that concats several fields used in (sub)tasks higher in the task-hierarchy. We cannot seem to tackle this in Workfront. BackgroundOn sub-task level we like to create a calculated field specifying the naming convention of the document a design needs to create based on the sub-task. This calculated field used fields managed on several layers within this main task. ExampleFilename: [skuNumber-productShortName-assetType], where:skuNumber is a field managed on the main taskproductShortName is a field managed on the 1st sub-taskassetType is a field managed on the 2nd sub-taskThe filename is a concat of these fields within the 2nd sub-taskAsk How can we achieve this in Workfront? Can we manage this outside of Fusion? And so: how? If not: how would you recommend creating this?

I predominantly work with photos, and I add keywords, tags, titles etc in Bridge. However I work with other people who are adding videos to the DAM and it's a much more manual and clunky process for them. I know Bridge doesn't work well with videos - can anyone suggest a process or program that might be helpful? Currently I've built a spreadsheet where they can input all the information manually and then import it to DAM, but I feel like I might be missing something.
Hello All, Trying to setting up my first recommendation activity in AT. Completed uploading few products to product catalog via Recommendations API. How can we set up a basic or simple recommendation activity after this catalog set up? Sample use case like if a user searches a particular product , then displaying that product based on the search term. Would be really helpful to get the inputs. Thank you.
If I have multiple Merge Policies then I need to have different Target connections ....Then I need to have different Datastreams ....Then I need to have multiple Web SDKs on specific web page ...Do you have any ideas on that?Only the default merge policy (active on EDGE) is able to share audience to Target. Do you have any workaround how to send audience to Target with different Merge Policy?
Hi, I'm trying to do experience targeting personalisation on webpage which is EDS document based. I have configured this using Web SDK. The number of steps that I have followed is:1. Defined datastream. Activated AEP & AT services2. Configured web SDK tag property to collect data in AEP.3. created audience and activated to Target.4. Created experience targeting activity and changed the title of hero banner. However, I cannot see Target personalised content on webpage. I could see the content data in network 'interact' response, but not on webpage. What am I missing? Thanks,Jyoti
I am working on a POC for push notifications in AJO for an app that is still under development. For the test, profiles are ingested from a CSV file containing first name, last name, email, appID, platform, device token (captured from the app). An Individual Profile schema (profile enabled) is used, with email as the primary identifier. The device token from the CSV is mapped to the schema path pushNotificationDetails.token using the standard Push Notification Details field group. An audience is created based on email, and a journey is built to:Read the audienceSend a push notificationIssue observed: Push notification is not sent, even though deviceToken is mapped and visible under identityMap along with email, the journey fails with “No token found in profile”.Note: Push credentials are configured correctly (we can successfully send push via Postman using the same device tokens).Kindly suggest how to resolve this and why AJO is unable to recognise the token.
Hi Team, I have a client who is using Email Programs to send all emails in their instance (Invites, Reminders, Follow-ups) to leverage the Recipient Time Zone functionality. I had a few quick questions:Is it considered best practice to send all emails through an Email Program? What are the benefit or drawbacks of following this practice. Can we override the Email Program send limit? If we set a Smart Campaign limit in the Admin section, will it also impact Email Program send limits?Could someone please clarify. Thanks in advance!
Team, I am working on a in-app notification in AJO. Created the In-App channel surface, campaign, Journey with in-app message and published as well.We have created a sample "send Interaction" button in the android application and using the send event(Edge.sendEvent) and Mobilecore.Trackaction whenever the button is clicked.Created a custom event type in the schema for this button click and it reaches the profile as well along with the analytics.track event. Created a campaign & journey using the following triggers,1. send data to platform and event type is "application interaction" event happens2. send data to platform and xdm payload is applicationInteraction.name == 'sendInteraction' event happens3. track action and action name is "sendInteraction" event happens4. Send data to platform event happens. Only using the 4th trigger the in-app displays but the message keep getting displayed without closing and application crashes at the end. Using the
Hi, I need to update the execution address from an Active channel surface but I'm not able to do that. In the past I remember it was possible. Is this possible today? Thanks.
Hello, I am looking to get access to collection's name that is referenced in the Asset details, screenshot attached. Is there an OSGi service or approaches where I can get this information? Sajid
Adobe Experience Platform Debugger fails when I inspect Edge logs for event forwarding. The UI collapses and loses functionality. Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

The Problem A B2B RT-CDP customer recently noticed what seemed like “ghost profiles” entering their Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) journeys, more journey entrants than the number of profiles qualifying for the audience. This issue appeared across multiple journeys, skewing analytics and measurement. Typically, journey entrants are fewer than the audience size due to eligibility criteria, re-entry rules, or profiles leaving the audience before a journey starts. The customer’s data ingestion was standard: batch ingestion via a source connector from their enterprise data warehouse into Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). However, they also heavily relied on the Custom Upload feature to import audiences from CSV files that powered some of their AJO journeys and campaigns. The Cause To determine why AJO reported more entrants than expected, we examined profile snapshots and journey datasets. We found multiple profiles for the same person, created because of inconsistent casing in identity value
Native Visibility Rules and Progressive Profiling pack immense power. But one thing they can’t do is change whether a field is required: if a field is displayed per VR and/or ProgPro rules, it simply picks up the Required setting from Form Editor. This means you need JS for advanced behaviors. Say Country should be optional for Home users: Country and Company are required for Professional and Enterprise. while Number of Employees is displayed (via native VRs) but optional for Professional: And finally, Enterprise users must provide Country, Company and Number of Employees: Enter manageFieldRequirement() Here’s a little JS function that lets you achieve such special effects: /** * Programmatically require/unrequire a Marketo form field * @author Sanford Whiteman * @version v1.2 2025-08-25 * @license Hippocratic 3.0: This license must appear with all reproductions of this software. * */ function manageFieldRequirement(mktoForm, fieldName, userOption
Why is this feature important to you:This feature is important because we are unable to customize or control notifications at the group or subgroup level. As a result, stakeholders (such as my VP) are receiving irrelevant messages that do not pertain to our specific project, which causes confusion and impacts communication effectiveness. How would you like the feature to work:Ideally, we would like the ability to configure notifications at the subgroup level independently of the parent group. While the system currently allows notification settings at the parent group level, it does not support differentiated configurations for subgroups or nested groups. The feature should allow for subgroup-specific notification settings to meet the needs of different project teams using the same structure.Current Behaviour:Currently, the system only allows notification configuration at the parent group level. It is not possible to set different notification rules for individual subgroups, which limits
Have you wished you had a guide for how to use advanced functions in your calculated metrics? Check out the link at the bottom of this post to see a new guide that I’ve written to help you understand the various functions available. Calculated metrics are one of the most powerful features available in Adobe Analytics. Creating your own metrics gives you the flexibility to define KPIs like conversion rate or add-to-cart rate rather than simply relying on the events captured on your website (or Adobe’s out-of-the-box metrics). There are several features in calculated metrics that you can use: adding segments, containers, static numbers, and of course, functions. Each function performs some type of mathematical computation in order to give you options for how you want to build your metrics. Some of these functions, like mean or median, are pretty basic yet still very powerful. You can use them to get an average of a particular metric without worrying about dividing it yourse
I have got such a Data Model:Would such a profile be included in the audience? Would that array be automatically iterated?
Have you ever attempted to use the Adobe Experience Platform Debugger to do some very simple troubleshooting tasks, like examining only your Web SDK payloads? I have, and occasionally, my experience doing so hasn't been all that great, as exemplified by the following internal dialog:"Alright, I need to find a specific XDM object within a server call's payload"."I think I know which server call contains the correct payload and I think I know where to look within the payload itself""Okay, so I'll click here, then click there, then click here.""Is that it? Nope, darn. Okay, go back.""Click there, click here"."Wait, what is this?""Click here, click there, click, click, click.""Hmmm, why can't I just see everything all at once?"If you couldn't tell, it's all the clicking and guesswork that drives me crazy. So, if you've had the same type of internal dialog as I have, please know you can set up a completely different method to look at your AEP Web SDK payloads – with a lot less c
Does anyone know which of the new access levels allows a user to generate a proof? I ask because Standard, Light and Contributor all have "Edit" access to documents per this overview: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/administration-and-setup/add-users/access-levels/access-level-overview Does Edit access permit Light and Contributor users to generate proofs? Thanks!
In part 2 of this series I gave you a basic technical guide on how to get Adobe Analytics working with Web SDK. In this article, I will expand out more details of my recommended approach, particularly around how to efficiently populate the XDM Object. However, before we get on to what to do, I'm going to start with what not to do and my biggest mistake! Mental model Prior to using the Adobe Web SDK, based on years of successful deployments(!), I had a very strong mental model of how Data Collection - Tags should be set up to support Adobe Analytics. My basic mental model went like this: Set a data layer in the website Read the data layer into Data Elements, normally on a one-to-one basis Use rules (which contain most of the logic) to: apply conditions to our data processing concatenate Data Elements together map Data Elements to Adobe Analytics variables send data back to Adobe Analytics My biggest mistake was initially sticking rigidly to this mental model and trying
I'm working with a variable in Adobe Analytics that captures multiple values separated by hyphens. I'm looking for the best way to visualize this data in a heatmap. The goal is to split these delimited values into individual components and represent their frequency or intensity visually, allowing for easy analysis of patterns or trends. Any advice on how to achieve this effectively would be appreciated. Dimension X captures: Equity Compensation-Retirement Planning-Executive Financial Planning-Financial Education-Nonqualified Deferred CompensationExecutive Financial Planning-Financial Education-Nonqualified Deferred CompensationRetirement PlanningRetirement Planning-Financial EducationI would like to see my dashboard show each value independently and provide counts of how many instances it showed up. For example: Retirement Planning = 3Equity Compensation = 1Executive Financial Planning = 2 Is it possible to do this without using a list.var?
