Hello, I'm trying to get to know how designs work in CQ5.I've noticed that if I have CSS files in the clientlibs folder which has a categories property set in a design then I can include these CSS files by calling <cq:includeClientLib categories="category_name" /> in the head.jsp of my page component. Example:/etc     /designs          /demo               /clientlibs     (categories = "demo")                    /css                         /style.css                    /css.txt Now if I copy the design and change some CSS settings then both clientlibs folders are included, because both have "demo" as the value of the categories property. Generated HTML-code:<link rel="stylesheet" href="/etc/designs/demo 2/clientlibs.css" type="text/css"><link rel="stylesheet" href="/etc/designs/demo/clientlibs.css" type="text/css"> This is a problem if I want a website where the author can choose a design over the page properties.While examining the Geometrixx project I noticed that "

Can I build mobile web sites using AEM?

I need to develop a page where a list of job openings is displayed. To be able to do some filtering on the jobs being displayed I decided to try to implement this using a search component which searches in search path .../jobs. This works, but now I realize that I am unable to show a list of all jobs when the page loads for the first time and no search has been performed yet. I tried to figure out if I could get all pages underneath ../jobs/... to show up by editing the query ?q=<querystring> to something like ?q=*. But this doesn't work. So now I am stuck.Another approach could be to use the list component. This way you can easily list up all pages underneath the ../jobs url, but this list is always the same. So you can't filter it further I think. Maybe it could be possible to add an input field on the page in which one could enter a query string and try something likeList list = (List)request.getAttribute("list");list.setQuery(queryString);But even if this works, the list comp

What is a workflow?

Hi,I am developing an application that requires to me to prompt user to login and then pass some data from page to page. This can't be GET or form POST data. So, I thought to do using HTTP SESSION. I was trying to figure out how to do this in CQ5. I have been trying to figure out how to do this, but not successful so far. In some posts I was reading that HttpSession is not supported by CQ5. In some forums, I read that HttpSession is not encouraged since it creates problems in multiple publish environments. But I couldn't find any where as what is the approach we need to take for my case, which is very common. Can someone please help me out how to approach and go over this problem? Just to simplify the use case:I'll have a login form. Once the data is submitted, I'll make a service call using javascript and if service authenticates user, I'll set some hidden values in a form and submit the form. When this form is submitted, I want to set some session values and redirect user to a differ

Please find some MCM related questions below: in AEM 5.6 you cannot retrieve / edit newsletters from the MCM admin. The OOTB geometrix newsletters exists and can be accessed from the /content node (through crx) but as you can see (image attached), you cannot edit the newsletter from the MCM admin menu.  Another bizarre and rather frustrating feature is the error you get when you create your own newsletter. An e-mail is being generated and sent (second image attached) but it's obvious the content is missing. in AEM 6.0 we cannot send the email although configuration of the Day CQ Mail Service has been taken care off (see images attached). We already went through the http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/administer/operations/notification.html and the Campaign Management document. Any help is much appreciated,regards,Wim 

What is Adobe Experience Manager?

Alright, so yesterday I updated my Adobe Application Manager. (because when I opened it it prompted me to update) I late tried to open it after the update had installed and was unsuccessful.. I restarted my computer just to be sure it wasn't a update that required a restart of some kind. I got back on and attempted to open it again. Nothing happens. So, I decided I'd reinstall it before getting on here and asking questions. So, I did. I reinstalled it, it gets to the point where it says "initializing installer" then goes to "launching adobe application manager." Sits there for a second, then nothing happens once again.. What do I do?

In AEM 5.6, if you delete a brand accidentally there is no prompt and seemingly no recovery, undelete, or versioning options in AEM.I would like to prevent accidental deletes.

Hi, I am working on adobe CQ 5.4, and using OOTB "Ratings" component under "Collaboration". Whenever i am adding it on the geometrixx website pages it is working fine. But Whenever i am dragging it on my own website pages(not using the geometrixx templates), the "ratings" component does not seem to work. Basically, the 5 "stars" which should appear in order to rate doesn't appear anymore.Has anyone tried this? Please help.OOTB "Ratings" component is not working on custom website pages.

Hi, I'm having a hard time understanding this issue.I have this page in our content hierarchy under which if I create a page, I cannot delete it, even though I am 'admin' with the jcr:all permission set.[img]CQ5_WCM___Web.png[/img]Am I missing something?

I’m trying to start by double clicking on cq-quickstart-5.4.0 (1).jar. I’ve changed the name to cq-author-4502.jar. It resulted shortened/modified URL in browser..i.e if  type direct URL  "http://abc.com/content/abc/en.html" It redirects to http://abc.com/ABC/en.html rather it should show same  complete URL in browser.I have tried with another localhost_entry into /ect/map/http where sling:match= "abc.com/content/abc/ and internalredirect=" abc.com/content/abc....It appears that this approach is not correct.Could you please suggest something on this line?Thanks Chandra

We recently upgraded to AEM 5.6, which caused our build to stop working. We've been able to get the builds up and running based on Adobe's multimodule-content-package-archetype, but they don't seem to work at all when installing our app into CQ from Windows.The build seems to be working fine, but on the very last line of the build we get the following error on Win 7:[INFO] --- content-package-maven-plugin:0.0.20:install (install-content-package) @myApp ---[INFO] Installing myApp-components (~/Documents/myApp/myApp-components/target/myApp-components-0.0.2-SNAPSHOT.zip) to http://localhost:4502/crx/packmgr/service.jsp[ERROR] Request failed:com.day.jcr.vault.packaging.PackageException: java.lang.IllegalStateException:folder handler did not accept /apps/myApp/components/pages/global.jspx(500) Is there something that needs to be configured to install a .jspx file? This is the only jspx file that I know of in our build.
