Hi,Let's assume that I have create an OSGi Service in AEM and I have set its sling.servlet.paths property to '/bin/testservice'. Assuming that this service is active and the AEM instance is running, how do I call this service and obtain the service response from a Java snippet that is running on my local system(outside the AEM server)? Thanks in advance

How do you auto crop an uploaded image?  I see that there are workflow steps and it seems there might be a couple that can create new assets, but where is the documentation for that?  Also, how do you set the auto crop aspect ratio for the html4image widget?

Has anybody else seen this problem in CQ5.5? Create some custom Metadata settings using these instructions: Create /apps/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems (copy the form from/libs/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems).Add a new control and set the name to ./namespace:property e.g, ./dam:Example.Save your changes. After saving, all CQ DAM users can view and edit this property. When I upload an asset to the DAM, I only see the new metadata setting if I disable the default workflow launcher "DAM Update Asset" If it is enabled then I can only see the default metadata. Is this a bug? I see that Service Pack 2.1 has some DAM fixes, but I have not had a chance to see if it addresses this issue. Thanks

How can I query data from the JCR?

Is there a way to have multiple smartimage widgets in a single dialog? Specifically I'm struggling with the requestSuffix parameter. Most of the other ones I can adapt to get the second widget to save its info to a different location from the first, but I can't see how to do that with requestSuffix. If the values are the same for both widgets, then once an image is selected, I see the same image in both tabs of the dialog. If I change it to something like /image2.img.png, it's no longer hitting the component as the resource. If I change it to .image2.img.png, the script handling this selector appears to break. I might be able to change that script, but that doesn't seem like it'll be a very flexible approach. Any other options? I'm in CQ 5.4 if that matters.

I was able to successfully create a touchpoint for my teaser using -http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/wcm/campaigns.html#Creating%20a%20Touchpoint%20for%20your%20Teaser. The problem I am having is that when i re-open this OOB teaser component on the authoring page it does not show any of the the three values that were set to make it work. My page has the campaign and the content and is displays correctly (everything still works) but it is a bad User experience for author's to not being able to see back the values that they have set on teaser component.Am I missing something or is this a bug in cq 5.6.1?

Hey CQers , I would like to know the best approach to have the same content displayed in a different ways in a portion of a web page for the draggable component which sits on a page component .To elloborate  , I have defined a custom component named  'ProductsList' which by default has default jsp 'ProductsList.jsp'The business logic for this component is to fetch all the products from JCR  . The display logic is that if the component is dragged and dropped on a parsys on a products page which is backed by a template and page components ( to include standard headers , navigations , side bars along with other custom components ) , the list of products should be displayed in a grid view . If the 'ProductsList' component is dragged and dropped on a 'Suppliers' page which is also backed by same template and page components   , the portion of the webpage should display the products in a list view (the page can be refreshed).One way to achieve is to manipulate the display logic in Productsli

Hi All,I have an requirement to access an CQ5 page from external java application and read the HTML of the page . Is it possible to implement? if so can you guys provide some inputs? The Java application reads the HTML and using Java Mail service triggers an email.i am not getting an idea how to read the CQ5 page from external Java application. Please suggest

After making some changes in CQ configuration I cannot open some pages of CQ.For instance, I get this error while trying to access /siteadmin or /useradmin page on publish instanceNo resource foundCannot serve request to /siteadmin on this serverI tried to roll over all the changes and restart CQ, but still these pages are not found.I'm not sure if these pages should even be available for publish instance. Could you please tell me if not displaying these pages on a publish instance is a correct behavior of CQ5 or not?Thanks

I upgraded from CQ5.3 to 5.5. Sidekick is empty for my custom site. For the geomatrixx site, it works perfectly.I noticed there are JS errors while the page is loading - [11:59:57.715] TypeError: design is undefined @ /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/wcm/EditBase.js:914 Please help to solve this. Thanks a lot!

I'm using a copy of the image-fondation-component (/apps/foundation/components/image/cq:editConfig/cq:dropTargets/image) with accepts image/* and groups media. Now I want to configure the image component so that only images from the DAM are allowed (and especially no upload from a Windows Explorer). Also I want to configure the parsys NOT to accept any uploads except into a download-component (/apps/foundation/components/download/cq:editConfig/cq:dropTargets/file accepts .*). I am sure it is possible, thanks for your help.

Hi, I read the following forum post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4296426, like to get confirmation that this is how we need to implement our solution.  This is the problem: we have a component that displays a link to Vimeo if the user is logged in, and a link to the login screen if not logged in. The page needs to be cached for performance reasons. Now the problem is that if the page is cached, the link displayed is also cached, so doesn't change depending hte user. We're using Adobe CQ authentication. Is there a way to make the content behind the link non-cached? Any feedback really appreciated.

I am working on integrating Hybris with CQ ecommerce. I am following the documentation on - http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/ecommerce/eCommerce-framework.ht ml However one of the steps is to import the catalog from Hybris into CQ through the Hybris catalog importer - http://localhost:4502/etc/importers/hybris.html When I open this Hybris catalog importer, I am getting a blank page. Not sure if I have missed anything. Any suggestions?
