I merged 2 contacts and for some reason the final result took on the Acquisition Program of the most recent contact, which is wrong. I am looking to wipe (erase) the current Acquisition Program, but the system won't allow this - you HAVE to pick another program in the Change Data Value step. In this case, the lead was simply created in Salesforce years ago so I don't want to align it with any acquisition program.Any thoughts?

Hi, I am trying to convert a lead into opportunity but getting error as - "Validation error on Lead: Please select appropriate LDR who qualified the lead." Please let me know the process to convert a lead into opportunity.  

We're managing most of our marketing activities as programs (& SFDC campaigns) - Online ads / Webinars / Events etc...The only place missing is the resources section on our website (WP / case studies downloads. I can track usage by "form fillout" in Marketo, but I'm wondering if it's preferrable to manage those in programs and SF campaigns as well...Thoughts? it'll also simplify tracking touchpoints per lead, SF dashboards etc...Thanks!Itay

I have a form that contains a drop down list. When someone selects items in the form an email alert has been set up to notify several people in the marketing and sales departments. The problem is that the email alert doesn't provide the data from the drop down and instead of saying prospect is interested in MEM, PSM,  etc... it says propsect is interested in: 1 (in this example I had selected several products). How do I correct this?

I recently noticed via the lead activity log that Marketo is changing a lead's status from "Not In Program" to "Invited". Viewing Activity Details, the reason is "Filled Out Form", but no campaign is associated with this activity and I don't have any flows set up to change the progression status to "Invited". It doesn't seem to cause an issue since the lead is immediately changed to "Registered" by campaign flow I've set up to handle registrations, but I just don't understand why it has to go through "Invited" first. Curious if anyone knows the answer? Thanks!

I have 4 sales reps now instead of two that we initially had.  My account manager helped me set up random sampling to share the lead notifications among our sales team.  Now that I'm doing four people, do I set up the flow to show each person's email address for the notification and just put random sample is 25?  I have a screen shot of what I have entered....is this correct?  (Just an FYI - we dont assign our leads, they're all assigned to admin and then random sample disperses them out evenly.

Hi,Are there any tricks to getting my nurture campaign emails to send at a different time? It turns out that they are now being sent out on Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. Not exactly optimal. I've put in rules "wait 2 weeks" for each email and unfortunately started out the whole nurture at that time. The large portion of the leads were dumped in at that time so it kicks off every two weeks on a Thursday afternoon.Of course it's now dumping poeple in when they are new to the system whenever they come in - I have it wait two weeks and then it puts them into the nurture. Not sure how I would control that either with the Marketo functionality offered.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am an admin on Marketo, but i am unable to perform certain acts. I am unable to use advanced filters in my smart lists. Could someone advise?

Hi all,Here at Romax we have a website which will soon have multiple languages - Each language will have its own domain, for example UK.RomaxTech.com, US.RomaxTech.com and CN.RomaxTech.com.My question is, if we're currently using the CNAME 'campaign' (To host landing pages on campaign.RomaxTech.com) would we need to create a bunch of additional CNAMES (eg. USCampaign, UKCampaign, CNCampaign) or is there a more ellegant solution to accomplish multi-lingual campaigns?How does this relate to emailTrackingCNAME (currently 'Email').Thanks for the ideas / support.JAR

How do I create a report where I can see all the Programs who have no cost associated? Not a cost of 0, but the Period Cost was not added at all.

I am trying to create an Email Link Performance report. I've added a smart list "Clicked Link In Email" and I'm trying to find my email in the "Select Email" dropdown list but no emails are listed. Any ideas on how I can find the emails? We've done many campaigns in the past with "Clicked links in email". Is there something I'm missing?

I've been testing the Forward to a Friend capability.  I'm using a couple of my own email addresses, and the Activity logs for both the sender and receiver show that the messages are reported as being sent/received.  However, I'm not actually receiving the forwarded email.I've also checked the junkmail folder, and the messages are not showing up there.1. Is there some sort of batching or built-in delay and I'm just not wating long enough.2. Is the FTAF capability subject to a campaign's "Send Only Once" limits?3. Is there a way to check the overall email stats on hard or soft bounces, delivery/open status, etc. as I can with regular email campaigns.

Hello:What does everyone use to collect leads when they attend Trade Shows/Conferences/Conventions?  Fishbowl? SnapAp? At Event?  The Trade Shows we attend are on the smaller side so we are not looking to spend a whole lot but would like somthing that integrates with Marketo and SalesForce.  Would love to know what works for everyone.thanksErin

I am building out a smart campaign to A/B test two email variation. We want the A/B test to be sent to a random sample. I added a filter to the smart list (which contains the leads) called Random Sample and set it to 25. Then I created a smart campaign to split the leads up in to chunks. In the Flow step, I added the step "Add to List" and the option to select "Random Sample" for the IF statement is not available. Does anyone know why this isn't an option for my campaign. Morning all... I'm exporting a simple smart list, and one of my columns/categories is "Last Interesting Moment"... I see it on the screen, I select export all visible columns and yet... when it opens in Excel, the column for Last Interesting Moment doesn't appear... the colums around it do... but it seems to skip that column entirely.Any ideas?

We are seeing major decrepencies between our landing page reports in Marketo and Google analytics.  Is anyone else experiencing these issues?  We have applied all the appropriate codes onto our landing pages, but I can't figure out why there is consistently a 30% difference between the two systems.  If anyone has any ideas on how to get this numbers more aligned please let me know.Thanks so much.

I know it's not a "direct" Marketo question, but I figured it's worth to ask...We have an SDR team that is in charge of qualifing the leads and put them in the appropriate status in SFDC. Once the lead is converted, we're not changing the "contact status" field (the account, opportunity and contact are in the sales hands and they mostly update the opportunity)how do you manage this field? I assume it has some meaning in syncing back to marketo (segment / nurturing etc...)Thanks!Itay

So I've got forms that use a custom field ( Website__c ) that we use to pass over what form a visitor filled out on our site ( the lead info submission is via the SOAP API ). This works great, I have a trigger set up so when the field updates it creates a task for the sales rep to follow up when appropriate.The issue i'm running into is that when SFDC syncs to Marketo it overwrites the field... setting it back to "null" I have other fields that are allowed to update just fine.I can't seem to remember what I have to do (if it's a SFDC issue or Marketo issue) in order to allow marketo data to update properly. I've tried a couple searches in the community, but can't seem to phrase it just right.EDIT: I'm only noticing this behavior on SF contacts not new Leads.Any ideas? 

I'm trying to segment out a list of leads created from last year, but am having difficulty taking out some 'leads' created by our account coordination team.Whenever a client is brought on board, often there are least a few other contacts that are manually created in Salesforce for various purposes after the sales process is complete. They are only created by two individuals, but I can't seem to find a way to filter that out in the smart list and the "Created By" field doesn't exist as a filter in our Marketo.Is there any way around this, or am I just failing in my thinking that Marketo would count contacts created in Salesforce as leads?Thanks!

Tried to figure out how to use "SFDC Campaign" token in programs.I know I can sync each program per one SFDC Campaign (via the "Salesforce campaign sync" option), so I'm not sure about this token...Does anyone use this?

Can someone please help me understand whether a visitor would appear as a known or unknown visitor to MKTO in this scenario: Lead registers on a MKTO form and gets cookied into MKTO.  The form uses AJAX/Javascript to communicate with another system to create a userid to our knowledgebase using the information submitted on the MKTO landing page.  The only way to get a login to the knowledgebase would be through the MKTO landing page. The other system has the MKTO tracking snippet embedded on it so if the MKTO cookie is in place, then when the user logs into the knowledgebase, we have visibility to the pages that the user visits. What happens if the user deletes their MKTO cookie before they login to the knowledgebase?  The login screen to the knowledgebase is not integrated with MKTO, but the MKTO tracking snippet is embedded in the knowledgebase.  Does that visitor appear to MKTO as an unknown visitor?  Or does the MKTO cookie have some way to see the email address from the knowl

I have a program that sends nurturing emails. whenever a lead clicks the link, progression status is changed to "Clicked". the link directs to a This is a Marketo page (and form) embedded within our website (Iframe).I would like that if the lead filles out the form immediately after clicking the email link, the progression status will be changed to "converted".
