Isn't it annoying to add a Wait step before sending a registration confirmation, crossing your fingers that the provider has phoned home with the {{Member.Webinar URL}} token?   I've always hated this step. Not only because of the experience for the end user, who might think you've forgotten about them, but on a pure technical level. Techies hate timers that are “probably sufficient”: we want tools that are predictable, not best-case guesses with fatal downsides. Not only might a 15 minute Wait not be sufficient under load,  there's no Wait that will fix a major problem with the integration, so users will eventually get an email with a big blank in the middle anyway.   What if I told you you don't need to hold off on such emails at all?   Instead, set up an LP in the webinar program that redirects to the {{Member.Webinar URL}}. Send them a link to that LP with no delay. Unless it's very close to the webinar's start time, most people aren't going to click a Join Webi

How are campaigns recorded and tracked in Dynamics from Marketo? Is there is any documentation for this, like for Salesforce there is?

Hello support I have a question about the Marketo API and custom objects update.The CRM of my clients takes as dedup field an ID, which is a custom field in Marketo. That means that they have contacts with the same email address but different ID. When I want to update the custom objects associated to the contacts via the API, I want to check if the lead already exists in Marketo based on the custom fields "client ID" rather than by email.- If it does exist a lead with the same ID: email address: client@email.com / clint ID: 123. Update the custom objects associated to it.- If lead with client ID 123 / email address client@email.com doesn't exist in Marketo, but lead client ID 456 / email address client@email.com exists in Marketo, I want to create the lead and associate the new custom objects to this new lead.I know this last scenario will create duplicates in Marketo, as the unique identifier is the email address, but if we'd use the email address as dedup field to sync

Hi, Is it possible to include a unique identifier (such as an ID token for example) in my "attend webinar" CTA in my Marketo email which will be sent to the people who registered using a Marketo Form? The webinar however will not be held on a Marketo Landing Page therefore I was hoping to use the unique token in the URL, so that on the landing page they can make sure only people arriving with a unique identifier can view the webinar, while people arriving to the url webinar without a unique identifier would see a different page.  Is this doable?  

Hi - I have a Marketo form embedded on our website. In the form's settings in Marketo, I've defined an external URL follow-up page, however when I fill in the form on our website, it's not redirecting upon form submission. Any idea why? Do I have to custom code the follow-up page on my website or will the embedded form respect the settings defined for it in Marketo? I should mention that the form re-directs properly when I test in on a Marketo landing page - the issue is only when I embed it.Thank you!

If you have programs in your nurture streams, do you have to mark the campaigns that send the email to use communications limits, or will it apply automatically because it is part of engagement?  I am hoping the latter, but wanted to make sure as we use programs throughout.  I know you don't schedule the campaign, so I'm hoping that the communications limits apply anyway.

Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the token code to include punctuation along with the variable token? I want to use the first name token in an email subject line followed by a comma if there is a lead first name, but exclude the comma if there is no data. I tried variations in order to get the following result:ExampleSubject with Lead Data: Jason, Download this Form!Subject without Lead Data: Download this Form!I tried using variations such as {lead.First Name & ",":default=}} however this errors out the email as it is not a recognized token. If I put the comma outside of the token brackets I get the following subject line:, Download this Form!As you can see, the comma is included at the front of the subject line as I did not have any text for the default. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!Jason

I have an email with dynamic content, I need to send it to people that have different business units, so for instance, person A belongs to two different business units with the logo being dynamic, I need to send them both versions of the email.  If I create segmented list based off the business unit, then create a smart list based on that segment, will it send both versions of the email to the same address or will Marketo dedupe it at the send?  If it dedupes at the send would it work if I do two sends with different smartlists calling out the different business units?  Or is there another way without having to create multiple emails for the different business units?

Hi, We have cases in duplicate records wherein 1 is tagged as Blacklisted and 1 as Customer.  How does the system picks which record to send the email to? Will Marketo based it to which segment they belong to (in our company's case, "Blacklisted" shouldn't be targted)? Or which record was first generated by Marketo (ID based)? Thank you in advance!

I am looking for some guidance as to what reports are best to use when reporting on email. The reporting seems to be a bit convoluted within Marketo and my team has the responsibility of training users of Marketo within our company as well as informing them of best practice.  Does anyone have some go-to reports which they use all the time? And also which reports do you use to create them.  I am happy with the amount of reporting but would like to get beyond "there's lovely" and use for meaningful insight. I am fairly new to Marketo, and am wondering if it's possible to use one single form for each category of content that my organization has -- case studies, white papers, guides, reports, etc. Currently, I am cloning from existing forms and creating an entirely new form each time a new piece of content is published. These forms point to one-off Thank You pages where the user can access their content. In order to scale, I'm wondering if I can create one case study form, one white paper form, etc., which I can then drop into Landing Pages as new content is published.How would I go about implementing this? Would I have to eliminate the Thank You pages entirely, and instead create variable dependent follow up emails for each new piece of content? Any guidance/advice/assistance would be very much appreciated! Via the Rest API Bulk Activity export, I have pulled a list of Activities that were performed within the last few months. Each Activity has a value in the "primaryattributevalueid" field which I assume ties to the ID from the Email API. Now, I need to get some more info for those Activities, such as the actual email HTML. I have also pulled (what I believe) is a full list of emails via the Browse method:123-ABC-456.mktorest.com/rest/asset/v1/emails.json?maxReturn=200 ( this returns a list of ~150 emails; well under the 200 limit so need to deal with page offsets). My problem is that I am seeing a lot of Activities with primaryattributevalueid that do NOT have corresponding email ID's from the email API. I believe this can be attributed to the following warning on the API docs here - https://developers.marketo.com/rest-api/assets/emails/#query  which states that emails that were part of Testing aren't returned by the the 'browse' API. Assuming everything st

I'm somewhat new to marketo and I can get my form to show up using the embed code but im also trying to include a program ID as well.

We are running an engagement nurture campaign. In the list, we have a lot of emails from the same company. (They have different locations we can service) We need to stagger the list so they don't get too many emails at the same time. What's the best way to go about this?

I have looked through the threads, but can't seem to find the same exact situation, so thought I would ask here.If I have a couple dozen items sync into Marketo, from SFDC, all at the same time and with the same timestamp in the activity log, would a filter criteria of "in past" 2 minutes work? I know this is a vague question, so let me put some context in here to help. Below, I have activities that came over from SFDC. 2 aspects to this question:1. If I used a "Person is/was converted" Trigger/Filter, and added another filter for "Data value was changed" to capture the "Person Status"  Data Value Change, AND added a constraint for "in past" 2 minutes would that capture that change that was logged just a few activities before? (Image of Filter Below)  2. Would the "In Past" 2 Minutes criteria also apply to any other data value change that happened with the same timestamp? Even if the activity had a chronologically higher record ID number in the activity log? Wi

We're new to Marketo and are creating a landing page. We found a template in the university that we like.  Are we able to modify those templates?  We'd like to add our logo and a form.  Thanks!

We'd like to put an image carrousel or slider on one of our landing pages, but so far we're running into some dead ends. My original plan was to drop a carrousel HTML into the template and then host the JS and CSS on the actual page in 'html' boxes. So far not working. Any one have any tips?
