Historical data — especially tracking how long a work item takes to complete — aids in planning for the future, but most importantly it captures valuable insight and helps establish metrics against which you and your team can continuously improve. While Workfront provides you with the native fields for Actual Start Date and Actual Completion Date, in order to capture the actual duration of work, or average turnaround time of work items, you must use calculated data expressions or text mode. Since text mode cannot be applied to charts, the instructions below will walk you through how to create three different calculated data expressions in custom forms and then how to apply those values to charts for quick and easy visuals. CALCULATING TOTAL DAYS Taking into account the start and the end days of the period selected, this function returns the number of days, both work days and weekends, between the two dates. The start day will not be counted as a full day if the start tim

Hi Community! Hope you can help me. I am looking to lock specific fields based on the status of a (sub-)task. These concern fields on project and/or (sub-task) level. But I cannot find anything about this in the documentation, other than creating a scenario in Fusion to undo changes I values are changed, which is not acceptable for our setup. Is there anyway to lock the values of fields based on (sub-)task status? Instead of locking, potentially using the 'Display or Skip' logic rules can be used based on (sub-)task status? Open to those kind of opportunities as well, of course. And if not, should I add this as an idea? And would you be willing to vote for that?
Hi All, I have to display the subform based on the dropdown value and once the subform is visible there are some fields that needs to mandatory. I have tried in all ways but is not working, it would be great if someone help on it, as the development is on hold. Sample script if(this.rawValue == "Accept"){Page1.Accept.presence = "visible";Page1.Accept.TextField1.mandatory = "error";Page1.Denial.presence = "hidden";Page1.Denial.TextField3.mandatory = "disable";}else if(this.rawValue == "Denial"){Page1.Accept.presence = "hidden";Page1.Accept.TextField1.mandatory = "disable";Page1.Denial.presence = "visible";Page1.Denial.TextField3.mandatory = "error";} Thank you in advance Regards,Apurva
Introduction In today’s multi-device, multi-channel landscape, customers often engage with brands across multiple platforms and touchpoints on their path to conversion. A customer might discover your product on their mobile device during their morning commute, research it on their work computer during lunch, and finally make the purchase on their tablet at home. Without person stitching, these would appear as three separate customers in your analytics, leading to fragmented insights and missed opportunities. Organizations increasingly need to effectively combine customer data from multiple touchpoints to gain meaningful analytics insights. This is crucial for Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), which uses a single declared field identifier per dataset to maintain consistent person identity. To meet these data integration needs, CJA for person-based stitching offers two distinct approaches: Field-based Stitching (FBS) and Graph-based Stitching (GBS). These stitching methods help
We have an in-house Creative and Marketing team and we are having issues with Marketing looking at a proof when it isn't ready for their review yet. How have others navigated this and what solutions do you have? We still want Marketing to have access to the request and the project, however, we want to remove visibility of the document proof until it is ready for their review/approval. As a work around, we are turning off inherited permissions on the document itself but this is proving to be extremely manual and it is restricting access to others in the Creative/PM team that should still have access. Thank you!

I am looking for tips and best practices on how Project Owners can update predecessors on their Projects without using fusion. We only have one resource with fusion experience so that would be a longer term solve for us. Our users can have projects between 400-1000 tasks that are often updated and tweaked to add more templates etc. I haven't found a way you can bulk update predecessors, but I've offered users a way to bulk update statuses, priorities and approval paths. I'm also using approval paths whenever possible to avoid the need to add more tasks for re-work. It's becoming very labor intensive for these project owners so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
Is it possible to create a display logic rule if any option is chosen in a checkbox group field before it? For instance, I have a locale selector checkbox group containing 60 options and don't want to have to create a display rule for each option. I just want any checkbox selection to cause the field that follows it to display it. I don't see any other option to conditionally show or hide that field.
Hello, Does anyone know why duration are decimals and not whole numbers? Thanks! - Andrew.
I am customizing a workload balancer for a resource manager. One feature they want to use is the summary panel to make quick updates. When I added the balancer as an external page to their dashboard, the summary panel was no longer visible and updates could not be made directly from the page. Is there a setting I'm missing to resolve this issue?
Hello, I'm trying to parse JSON coming in from an Iterator but the name of the JSON element could change names. For instance, different custom field names.Much like the eval() function in Javascript, I want Fusion to be able to read a name dynamically. I've attached some screenshots to help me desribe the exact scenario.I have the name of a Role in the 1st_Module and I'm looking up a Custom field with that same Role Name. That does return JSON data, which I'm trying to parse in the 2nd_Module.However, the Role Name will change with different assigned Tasks. Is there a way to dynamically set up the 2nd_Module to accomplish this. You can see from the 2nd_Module.png file what I've tried, but doesn't work. At time of the scenario running, Fusion errors with not valid JSON. I'm trying to type in a string that points to the JSON element. So I need Fusion to eval() the string.I hope that makes sense of what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks for any idea
I have a situation where a team wants to have folks who don't do there day-to-day in Workfront receiving task alerts in sent to their work email accounts. The people we are wanting to do this for aren't using Workfront much, if at all, in their normal day-to-day. But the team that is looking into this does, and they need a means to track project proposal approvals inside of Workfront. However, I have not found a way to send task alerts to anyone's email via the email notification system Workfront has. I have seen a few things here and there that look like they are looking to do something similar, because a notification inside of Workfront isn't always effective for one reason or another. So: Bob is a group admin in Workfront.Joe is his director, and rarely, if ever, uses Workfront. Bob is sent a proposal request through Workfront.Bob converts it to a project and then begins adding tasksBob needs Joe to either approve, or deny, this proposalBob creates a task that says "A
I have a report where I am calculating average users' average hours per week. In my grouping header, I want to show the sum average of the hours over a 6 week period (so total hours over the 6 week period divided by 6) & then in the subgroup headers (each row) I want show the average hours per week (total hours for the one week divided by count of the hours for that week). In my attached screenshot:Main group header: Hours 232, Avg Hours / Wk 38.67 > This is calculated by 232 / 6 = 38.67Subgroup header: Hours 40, Avg Hours / Wk 6.67 > This is where I am running into the problem. I need to divide by the count. In the screenshot, the count is 11, so to get the weekly average is should be 40/11= 3.64.There is a copy of the code in the screenshot. I'm not sure what I need to divide by to get the weekly average because my row count will change depending on the number of entries per week. Is this possible or is there a better way to do it?&nb
Hi everyone,We're currently experiencing an issue where some users (not all) are intermittently seeing a blank page when accessing Workfront. This behavior is inconsistent and seems to occur randomly. While investigating, we noticed that affected users are receiving a 403 Forbidden error when the browser attempts to load the following script:https://snippet.maze.co/maze-universal-loader.jsWe have a few questions:What is this script, and what is its purpose? Is it required for Workfront to function properly?Could this be related to the blank page issue?Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi folks - I am looking for advice/suggestions more than anything in about the best practice for splitting up my Workfront instance. We are expanding and onboarding other brands and business units from within our organisation. Our Groups and Companies set up is currently quite duplicative and I am wondering how best to utilise them so we can separate areas of the system. We will have certain areas that need to be restricted to the brands/business units that will utilise them and other areas that all users will need access to. Just wondering if anyone has any best practice or suggestions on how they have done this successfully? Thanks in advance!
I have created a request queue project and I am trying to be able to have people add to the request queue in the left tab within a project and have the request go to that request queue project AND stay in the project. I have been using routing rules, queue topics etc to achieve both of these separately, but cannot find a way to make workfront follow two routing rules. Things I have tried:- two routing rules (Stay in Project rule and Go to Issues Project rule). One set as default routing in queue details. - two routing rules (Stay in Project rule and Go to Issues Project rule). No default routing in queue details. - Queue Topics set up as part of request queue with the Go to Issues Project Rule as the Routing Rule. (Stay in Project Rule as queue details default)
Is it possible to display numeric values with comma separators in both input custom fields and the associated calculated fields for better readability?Currently, when users update the underlying custom fields multiple times after saving the input form, the calculated fields do not reflect these changes dynamically. Is there a way to auto-refresh the calculated fields to reflect the latest updates without requiring an additional save?
Hi, I was looking at a project report that contained a column for "Actual Hours" and noticed that the column has been renamed to "Legacy Actual Hours". I also noticed that there are now two fields in the report builder: 1. Legacy Actual Hours2. Actual HoursThe release notes do state that there was a change coming to the Actual Hours field but it wasn't going to happen until later in 2025. There was no mention of any impacts to current reporting functionality. I wish they wouldve communicated this change so I could update the column names on views and reports. Now Im sure I'll get some questions from my user base regarding this new field.
Is it possible to tie multiple projects to one request?

The Increasing Demand for Content in 2025As increasing content demands and AI acceleration force a new pace for organizations, many with outdated content supply chains struggle with hurdles and bottlenecks. According to Adobe's 2025 AI and Digital Trends Report, compared to 2024, marketers face escalating accountability as there is a greater demand to deliver more content in 2025. The survey finds that 43% of marketers anticipate an increasing need to amplify content output while ensuring the content personalized and pertinent to customers.1 Leveraging advanced tools to automate a content supply chain is becoming key, especially as GenAI begins to permeate across all industries. However, the integration of GenAI into content supply chains has moved more slowly than anticipated. According to IBM, only 50% of organizations had accomplished their anticipated AI adoption into content supply chains by the end of 2024.2Serving as the heart of high-velocity content supply chains is
