AN OVERVIEW ON ACS AEM COMMONS by Aemcorner Abstract ACS (Adobe Consulting Services) AEM Commons is an open-source library of pre-built AEM tools and functionalities that can help editors and developers to perform different operations on AEM servers, from deployment to cache management. Operations done with ACS Commons can often be performed in other ways, however there are some advantages in using ACS Commons tools. For example a lot of operations can be done by simply going in the right ACS Commons page and set the needed configurations. ACS Commons come in one package that can be installed on the AEM server in two ways: 1. embedding ACS Commons in the AEM project as a Maven dependency, 2. manually deploying the ACS Commons package with package manager. The package contains all ACS Commons tools, so it’s not possibile to install only the needed features. Top CEOs Share How Customer Experience Starts With Culture by Forbes Abstract When Jeff Bezos started Amazon -- originally called Cadabra -- he announced, “Our goal is to be earth’s most customer-centric company.” Today Jeff Bezos calls it "customer obsession." As I explored why customer focus is the primary driver of many of the world’s most successful companies, I was thinking about conversations I had over the past year with CEOs who through customer-centric models are leading their industries. What I found is the key to a world-class customer experience really starts with your own culture. Below are direct quotes from 10 CEOs whose companies are leaders of service in their industry. Digital Transformation Is About Talent, Not Technology by Harvard Business Review Home Abstract As The Economist recently noted, one of the most obvious consequences of the current Covid-19 pandemic will be “the infusion of data-enabled services into ever more aspects of life.” We expect digital transformation to be an even bigger imperative for organizations in the short-term future. Contrary to popular belief, digital transformation is less about technology and more about people. You can pretty much buy any technology, but your ability to adapt to an even more digital future depends on developing the next generation of skills, closing the gap between talent supply and demand, and future-proofing your own and others’ potential. As it turns out, most of us end up in jobs and careers for serendipitous reasons, and stay in them for a long time, rarely pausing to rethink our potential: Am I in the right job? Is my career the best fit for by interests and abilities? Would I enjoy my lif

AEM | Adobe Managed Services vs. Self-Hosting AEM – Pros & Cons by TAD REEVES Abstract What is Adobe Managed Services and how is it different from hosting it myself? Let’s get the basics out of the way first. How does Adobe Managed Services (AMS) differ from self-hosting? A simplified diagram of Adobe Managed Services and how you interact with AEM, and what functions you do not have access to. The above is a simplified view of what Adobe Managed Services offers. From an infrastructure perspective, Adobe provides a simplified GUI front-end that allows them to essentially provision and own AWS or Azure accounts (your choice) where your AEM environment will be deployed to, and then they provision and maintain whatever size of AEM environment you are licensed for in your AMS contract. Starting and stopping environments can be done self-service-style via their Cloud Manager web front-end. Technical staff at AMS then handle any platform issues that come up with your environment, and ar

Regarding AEM and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Culture by TAD REEVES Abstract A few years back, someone (badly) explained Google’s operations team structure to me, telling me that Google called them “SRE’s” and it meant that developers were on-call, that nobody actually did operations work and their whole world is just developers on developers, and then developers all the way down. As a multi-decade, traditional “ops” guy, I dismissed it as fanciful at the time, though did start to notice companies all over the place start to call their “ops” folk “SRE’s” regardless of whether that changed their job description. I gradually righted my mis-perception of what site reliability engineering is, but only just recently made time to read the O’Reilly Site Reliability Engineering book, thanks in part to the Audible version that I could listen to while on long bike rides. I wanted to share my thoughts on this as it relates to infrastructure for portly and natively cloud-unfriendly CMS imp

Grab Images from Web (under Email Editor » Email Actions and the equivalent spot in LP Editor) is a cool tool, but it’s subject to common web security restrictions. So a page that looks fine in its own browser tab — like your own corporate site, the principal place you’d (legally) grab images from — can nevertheless return an error when you try to scrape its images from the Marketo UI: There are a few possible causes (more than one may apply): the site requires the Referrer of image requests to match its own origin, an age-old way to block hotlinking the site requires a session cookie of some sort, even if it’s not an authenticated session the site uses other mechanisms to detect and reject spidering attempts With Grab Images From Web, Marketo’s back-end server makes an HTTP GET request to the site. This is an anonymous, direct request with no Referrer. So even if you’re logged into the remote site in your browser, that
The purpose of this thread is to continue the conversation from the Virtual User Group on the topic of Transitioning to the New Workfront Experience on April 20, 2021. Many thanks to everyone who came to our virtual meetup! Special thanks to @Josh Boston‚ for sharing guidance from Workfront’s on how best to transition to the new Workfront experience, and to @Brandon Pritchard‚ and Jennifer Demboski from Nationwide Insurance for sharing their steps for migrating. They used a tiered approach to rolling out the new experience based on their users usage and expertise within Workfront, and heavily leveraged pre-built materials from Workfront One. You can see more in the attached slides, and you can watch the recording here. Do you have any questions for Josh or the Nationwide team? Was there a tip that was especially helpful that you picked up in the session? Leave a comment below and we’ll keep the conversation going! Thanks again. Sneak peek: Adobe Journey Optimizer by Digitalum Abstract At Adobe Summit 2021, Adobe announced a new tool called Adobe Journey Optimizer. At the time of the announcement, this tool was still subject to beta testing, but we can already share some early insights from the summit. Why Adobe Journey Optimizer It goes without saying that 2020 was a pivotal year, a year that redefined how companies engage with consumers. More than ever, the power is with the consumer. This consumer is more complex, and hence customer journeys are more complex. Consumers expect more and find it table-stakes now that all interactions they have with a brand, are connected across the journey. “Just in time experiences” is no longer a buzz-word, rather it’s the new reality. To address this new reality, Adobe journey optimizer is built with the promise to: Orchestrate and personalise connected journeys across any app, device, screen, or channel. How it works To deliver on this promise, real-time data
