With the inevitable march towards AEM and away from Livecycle, I was wondering if Adobe are planning to replace some of the core functionality that Livecycle provides like Watched Folders? There doesn't seem to be a nice automated way to do this in "pure" AEM Forms without writing your own folder watcher, posting to JCR and using custom Launchers. Watched Folders provides features like throttling and batch sizing and timing that would be quite complex exercise to replace.Currently we still need the Livecycle / Processing server to watch folders and post content to the JCR where we can use launchers / workflows, but if the Livecycle server is required, I might as well remove AEM from the mix altogether and do it in Livecycle, where it is far less complex to develop.Is this functionality planned for migration?

Hi Folks, I have a requirement, in which I need to generate a custom guide component, that when dragged and dropped into the form panel should create a Communication related fields in the form. is it possible to create such a component like a fragment in Livecycle designer, if yes, how to do the same. Regards -Ashok D

Relatively new to AEM, but using the AEM forms add on and trying to proof out re-use of our existing LiveCycle forms inside AEM as adaptive forms.  I've followed all the forms package steps and installed, restarted the forms add in.  It previously said "install forms package".  Now it gives me a dialog box to select the xfa trying to upload.  When uploading using the icon "Upload Forms" piece, I select the XFA (and even a simply built XFA file) after browsing to the location on my machine.  When I select the file, click 'Upload'  of the XFA, nothing happens.  Nothing gets uploaded.  Is this a problem with the UI, some problem with the uploaded file?     Nothing appears in errors.log, other log files.   What am I missing?

Is one else having problems editing a AEM forms workflow component?I deployed the SPM_OffloadPkg_Test-1.0.zip package on my local AEM and for some reason I cannot edit the component. Hi,Does anyone have issues changing the tabbing order for accessbility in Safari?My issue is that in Safari when I use the tab button to navigate my adaptive form, the next selection is not always the correct one. Sometimes, whole sections are skipped.I do not have this issue in Chrome or Firefox. Thanks

I like to create test classes which can be started on local system connecting to an AEM repository. To be able to use same code as running inside repository, I need to have a proper ResourceResolver initialized. Of course, inside a running AEM instance, I just get it from the SlingHttpServletRequest. How can I get a ResourceResolver from local test class? Sample code:ResourceResolver resResolver = ????PageManager pageMgr = resResolver.adaptTo(PageManager.class);....

HiI have an XFA form with a change event handler on a field.  When the form is rendered as a PDF and opened in Reader, the change event handler works fine.However, when importing the XFA into AEM forms, adding the field to the AEM form works, but the change event doesn't fire when it is supposed to.  I had a change listener setup on a drop-down list.  I tried the simple case of a javascript pop-up on any change, but no luck.Are change events supported this way in AEM?  Is there documentation describing what type of event handling is supported?Thank you

I am trying to merge a PDF and XML to make an interactive PDF document. The next step will be to apply the RE key.For the merge data I created a standalone JAVA class as a package. Hi Folks,The url http://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/prepopulate-adaptive-form-fields.html details on how to pre-populate the fields of a AEM form, I have a requirement in which the user has to get the query parameter from the url and populate the filed of the form with that query param.Lets say for example my AEM form is opened with a url such as http://localhost:4502/forms/myaccount.html?productID=HSBCurrentAccountI need to populate the productID value from the query parameter into a text field in my Form, Note - that my form has a form model (XDP) ref.For now, I am able to get my query param in my JSP with the code String productID = slingRequest.getParameter("productID");But I am not able to assign it to the field that I have in my form. I tried with the following jQuery syntax like $('#myFiledInput').value('<%=productID%>'), but in vainPlease let me know if you guys have a way of populating a single field on Form load. Regards -Ashok D 

Hi,we would like to render a PDF/A out of an xdp template and some xml formdata. The OutputService.generatePDFOutput(xdp, xml-data, PDFOutputOptions) should be the right api to do this. The specific adjustments to get a PDF/A should be handed over within the PDFOutputOptions object I assume. The former LiveCycle api had a similar service but the paramerters are different. It supported settings like:TransformationFormat.PDFAsetPDFARevisionNumber(PDFARevisionNumber.Revision_1)setPDFAConformance(PDFAConformance.B) In the PDFOutputOptions I'm missing settings like that.Can someone provide me with a code snippet or point me to some sample that does PDF/A rendering with the new AEM6 forms?Thank's for any help on this!Alex

If the FormsService.renderPDFForm("crx:///content/xyz.xdp",...) is called with an xdp stored within the repository (using the crx://.... path), the FormsService retrieves that xdp from the repository using a ResourceResolver inherited from the context of the current request. This works fine, if we are in a servlet request context.But if the call takes place in a different context, i.e. some arbitrary service (in my case a sling health check service), there is no ResourceResolver. This leads to the error   AEM_FRM_001_006:resourceResolver is Null which occures within the com.adobe.forms.aem.impl.RepositoryServiceImpl.Other rendering services like the OutputService.generatePdfOutput(...) can be called not only by a string parameter to define a path of an xdp but also by a Document object containing the xdp. This allows the repository access to happen outside the rendering service and so the ResourceResolver can be handled under control of the calling programm.The FormsService.renderPdfFo

Hi Folks,The following link http://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/output-service.html gives info about generating PDF document in AEM, but I do not find the OutputService class in the jars that come along AEM 6 installation. Please let me know if any of you have tried creating PDF document in AEM without using a serviceclientfactory to connect to Adobe Livecycle ES4.The Java API link given at http://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/javadocs/index.html, but not able to find a single example that uses these API to generate a PDF. Regards -Ashok Deivasigamani

I have installed AEM 6.0 quickstart, and also installed the example described here:http://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/synchronizing-adaptive-forms-xfa.htmlI am able to open the adaptive form for edit, however the adaptive form data model tab (on left hand side) is blank, screenshot attached.  Also, there is a warning: "Unable to generate JSON from Template provided in Adaptive Form.  Please see the server logs for more Information".I couldn't find further information in the logs.Has anyone had issues using the sample adaptive form described in the link above?

Hi,I would like to use the renderPDFForm method from the FormsService to render a PDF. As input I would like to use an XDP stored in the crx repository. This is a very plain use case I think. To my surprise the renderPDFForm method accepts as input parameter only a filesystem path or a url. (see http://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6/javadocs/com/adobe/fd/forms/api/FormsService.html)To feed an xdp from repository into that method it would be necessary toa) load the xdp from repository and temporaily store it to the filesystem to be able to use a filesystem path orb) compose a url like http://localhost:4502/content/dam/forms/testform.xdp to be able to use a url.Both approaches are not very elegant. a) doubles all forms in an external filesystem and b) causes lots of trouble because of anonymous access and acl restrictions.Can someone please outline me a best practice?Btw: the corresponding OutputService.generatePDFOutput() accepts a docmanager document as input xdp. Hi, I'm looking for a replacement for the ExtJS widget which had the xtype 'cqinclude'. My company is upgrading to 6.0 (SP2) from 5.5 and a lot of our page components rely on cqinclude to cut down on duplicated dialogs.I know we can switch to classic UI to view the old page properties dialog, but they do not work in the granite ui (not sure if it was intentional or a bug, but it throws a javascript error stating "GraniteClientLibraryManager is unknown" (or something similar). We would like our authors to have a consistent experience, so we're going to be training them on the new Granite UI (since we expect that to be the norm from here-on out). Is there a similar form component to the cqinclude widget? Also if anyone has a list for migration of extjs to granite that would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
