Hi All.I'm trying to develop a disaster recovery strategy for CQ5.6 but it seems like all solutions are ultimately deficient in one way or another. The environment has 1 author and 4 publishers.These appear to be some of the options:1) Clustering: This gets me an exact replica of my environment but clustering requires very good network throughput between instances. If my primary and DR instances are on opposite sides of the United States then I can't get the required throughput. And does clustering guarantee that the DR site author and publishers will be in sync? If an activation completes at the primary site just before a major failure, is that activation guaranteed to be properly reflected on both the author and publishers at the DR site? I believe this solution also requires additional CQ5 licenses.2) Author-to-Author Replication: This solution copes better with the slow network but the entire repository on author needs to be replicated. We have a use case where in we have multiple sites on the cq authoring environment. Users & Group are created to take care of the Authoring of the content, review by another group and then publish and it works fine. For one of the site we need to do some change in the workflow wherein users in the group need to approve the content created/updated by other users of the group i.e. same user should not be able to create/update the content and publish it. It should be reviewed by other users in the group and only after approval, it will be published.  We are looking for best practices for this use case. Sample examples would be helpful

Hi,I am trying to import a .doc file to create a page using offline import and followed all instructions provided in dev.day but it is not working. Hi,I need to upload file via file input in page, save it to DAM and store info about this file in DB. I know just how to store the info in the DB so the question is how can I process my file in servlet and save it to DAM?And another question is - how can I upload file to DAM from local file system(I have a file in servers file system - /home/user/file.txt - and I want to upload it to DAM programmatically).Thanks for any help!

I couldn't understand the need for a parbase component in CQ5. From what I read on http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/wcm/default_components/designmode.html, parbase is a component that can extend from other components. But all components can extend other components by specifying sling:resourceSuperType property. So what is the need for a parbase component?Thanks in Advance.

Hi masters!I’m configuring a Dispatcher with multiple domains, and I’ve an issue with links. Maybe somebody could help me…I’ve followed the instructions given in [1]. Please note the method I’ve used is ‘AEM Rewrites Incoming URLs’, not the ‘The Web Server Rewrites Incoming URLs’.It seems all is working fine. I can access my web pages using the domain name, like:http://myserver.mydomain/es.htmlI’ve also configured the Sling mapping for resource resolution (in /etc/maps, in publish instance), so I can access /etc/designs, /libs, etc.But my problem is with the links: In my author instance, I add a Text Component with a link to other page, like /content/myapp/es/other.html.In the publish instance, I can see the link pointing to http://myserver.mydomain/es/other.html (ok, that's fine!).But, when I access through the Dispatcher, I can’t see the link. It appears we are running into a timeout when we try to run queries against scene7. If I provide a specific search string, it will come back with results, however it times out when trying to display entire folders. We have a client using out-of-the-box Social Collaboration features for a blog. We've noticed that when using the "Categories" and "Archives" components on a blog entry (e.g. on any page for which com.adobe.cq.social.blog.Blog.isEntry() would return true), the output of those components is blank. This is masked in the sample template since blog entries do not display the right-hand column where these components would show up, but this is a very limiting problem in terms of the typical layouts that might be used for a blog page.We were wondering if this would be considered a bug or just a limitation in these components? And what likelihood that this bug (or feature) will be addressed in future releases of the Social Collaboration components? Thanks...- Keith

ISSUE:The workflow we require is a multi-approval workflow which means once the author create the content it gets reviewed and approved by 2 roles (First by a Brand Manager and then finally by a Brand Director). The workflow works as expected if both Brand Manager and the Brand Director approves the content in the first go. However in a specific case where the Brand director is rejecting the content the 2nd iteration breaks. Below is the flow which is breaking (Steps to reproduce):Editor create the content and send it to Brand Manager for approval. (Use any geometrixx page. Put it in the workflow and from the inbox assign it to manager.)Brand Manager approves it and send it to Brand Director for the final review.Brand Director rejects the content. Hi,I am trying to add styles to the table cells but do not seem to see drop down boxes for the cells. The following is my code. This code does seem to work when I change from cellStyles to tableStyles. I have tried to add both cellStyle and tableStyle but only the tableStyle has a drop down in the table properties. Hello,I know there is a Portal Director that enables to use a AEM Content portlet that enables pull of content from the AEM repository.There is also a requirement that need to enable pulling the content in-line , within an existing transactional portlet. It is like a portlet content spot , not a full-blown portlet.Is there an offering like this with AEM now ? Like a taglib or a service ? Regards

Hi, I have created one desktop sites in cq5.4. I want to create the same pages for mobile also . Manually it can be possible but if the site has N number of pages means  it takes more to create the pages again which is already created for desktop.I tried this by using Live copy in MSM.Pages are created successfully but its not opening in mobile emulator.How this can be achieve MSM in CQ 5.4??Hope my question clear. Thanks in advance

I have implemented Preprocessor for one of my use case to detect the activity and do some processing. Hi ,I have a requirement to update the client library url with uniqueID if there is an update in the file. Also the URL for file should be consistent through all the publish instances to control the caching of libraries on AKAMAIFor example:Base.css file url in author should be like this : /etc/designs/myproject/base.8aff76f8da9c7419c296fa68db664c.css<8aff76f8da9c7419c296fa68db664c> : this is a unique id which we generate by using  MessageDigest unique key . In author mode i am getting all the css and js file with correct final url and the unique id is appended in the URL of file but when i replicated the package and design to publish instance then all the libraries appended with the same id in the URL.The functionality is working fine on author instance but not able to figure out the reason of this behavior in publish mode.Could any one please suggest what would be the reason for this behavior? Also please suggest if there is any other better approach to achieve this requirement

Im creating a custom xtype and Im running into an issue where I cant seem to pull the jcr property and set the default value to the jcr property value each time the page refreshes.  So for example, if I set the defaultValue to Option A and the user select Option B, Option B will be set as the default but once the user refreshes the page, the defaultValue returns to Option A and not Option B. On one of our development environements for CQ5.3 we have just installed feature pack cq-5.3.0-featurepack-37434-4. Now for some reason we cannot delete pages even as administrator. According to CQ this user should have permissions to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello, I am working on a proof of concept to integrate Adobe AEM 5.6 with SSO using SAML. I followed the demonstration documentation located here: http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/kb/saml-demo.html. This document shows the following entry in metata/adobecq.xml<md:AssertionConsumerService Binding="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:bindings:HTTP-POST" Location="http://localhost:6502/saml_login" index="1"/>When accessing AEM I am prompted to enter credentials by the IdP and after successfully authenticating it attempts to redirect me back to this http://localhost:6502/saml_login which is not available. It does not appear that anything AEM is listening on port 6502. Is there some service that needs to be enabled that is not enabled?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We need to handle Dynamic URL to generate XML based on users request. URL: localhost:4502/feed/[search-term].xmlEx: localhost:4502/feed/webinar.xmlIt should return an xml, which will be generated by system based on search-term mentioned in the URL.How can we handle such request?
