Here's an example of how we're currently tracking lead source (utm_source) and lead source details (utm_medium) through the various channels for a white paper we want to promote:Email: xyz.com/marketing-test.html?utm_medium=whitepaper&utm_source=emailWeb: xyz.com/marketing-test.html?utm_medium=whitepaper&utm_source=webFacebook: xyz.com/marketing-test.html?utm_medium=whitepaper&utm_source=facebookHow would I track the source and details for a banner ad that we want to promote on a 3rd party website or on multiple 3rd party websites?xyz.com/marketing-test.html?utm_medium=whitepaper&utm_source=banneradI feel like this doesn't full capture everything because we want to know which 3rd party website generated the conversion.

We use a custom SFDC field “sub industry” for both, leads and accounts. Both SFDC fields have the same name, and I also made sure that both fields are mapped in SFDC. So SFDC definitely knows that these fields belong together.I don’t know why, but somehow I forgot to give the Marketo user in SFDC read/write rights for the sub industry field before starting the initial sync process. So I did this now.After the first sync the lead sub industry field shows up in Marketo and is filled with data, but it is not mapped to the already existing (SFDC account) sub industry field which was created during the initial sync.I don’t see the new field in the Marketo field mapping:But I do see both fields in the field list:So consequently for Marketo leads which are also Salesforce leads the SFDC lead sub industry field is filled with SFDC data:And for Marketo leads which are Salesdorce contacts the SFDC account industry field is filled with SFDC data:(I granted Marketo read-only access to the account

we're testing sending out emails without a template to give them an outlook feel, but it looks like this won't track any clicks on a link in that email.  any suggestions?

Hi, I want to make a dashboard as a landingpage, so I need some numbers from the lead database, how many permission I have or how many with a firstname e.g.So how can I get theise numbers into my landingpage, can I somehow make tokens through javascript and use them in my scripts? or make variables?

We recently switched the API sync user in our Marketo-SFDC integration because we no longer wanted Marketo to see all record types.Now, SFDC is overwriting the scoring sent from marketo and marking leads with no lead score when Marketo pushes over a value of 50, for example.Has anyone else seen this? I read one other discussion about making the field "read only" - is that on the SFDC admin side? Wouldn't that PREVENT Marketo from being able to push over instead of doing the opposite?

I built a landing page with a form, and a follow up thank you landing page.The form follow up is set to direct to the thank you landing page. However, when I submit the form to test, it directs to our homepage. I looked in the Admin section and our homepage is listed as the fall back page. But, the thank you landing page is approved and ready to go so I'm not sure why it won't direct traffic to it.I'm guessing this is a simple fix that I'm overlooking, but I'm stuck.Thoughts?Kate

I want to store the time and date someone completes a specific form within the contact record of Marketo. (In a custom Field)  I can't find a flow step or change data value selection that allows me to choose current date/time. Any ideas how to accomplish this? Thank you!

Went live with Marketo this morning and doing some testing.  I am the owner of a contact in SFDC and that contact completed certain actions to increase their score to meet the threshold we have in place for the Marketing Qualified Lead Lifecycle Campaign.  I received the following default email "New Marketing Qualified Lead" which states that I have received a marketing qualified lead and to go in and update the lead status to Sales Accepted or Recycled.  Since this individual exists as a contact already, I wouldnt want that email to be sent to a sales rep.  How will Marketo distinguish between a new lead and an existing contact when it comes to scoring....

Hi, I am trying pass a ref id within the url when a form is submitted using forms2.0.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Is it as simple as entering a default value in the hidden field while editing the form?  Thanks -John

I’ve just set up the SFDC sync and want to add campaign sync. To prevent any unwanted changes in Salesforce – at least as long as I test everthing – I want to give the Marketo user in Salesforce only the minimal required read or red/write rights. (Similar to granting only minimal access to fields of leads, contacts, accounts and opportunites – and adding more rights later if tey are required.)Since I haven’t worked with SFDC campaigns by now, I’d like to know for which fields the Marketo user in Salesforce needs read and/or write rights.

Hi,If I forward an email in my inbox to a friend by clicking the forward button on the email client, like gmail, my information and cookie is also forwarded to her. I know that the other option is to have a "Forward to a friend" link in the email, where my information won't be forwarded to the friend any more, but this doesn't prevent someone from forwarding by clicking the forward button on the email client.Is there a way to handle this problem? That is to be able to forward the email by clicking the forward button on the email client, but my information and cookie wouldn't get forwarded.BRMaya

Hello,we are currently looking at the standard user field list provided by Marketo here. It seems that we don't have the same fields on our instance. As we cannot delete fieds and we cannot rename API fields (just the friendly labels), I was wondering if it could be that the current Adress field used to be called the Street field? The reason why I'm asking is that our Lab team is working on some top-notch open source Marketo connectors to help us connect Marketo to any data sources for easy automated import & export and they get following error message:syncLead operation failed: unknown fields for import: Address (20105)Cécile @ Talend

Hi there, I am loading a Marketo page in an iframe.  This creates a laughable problem on our CMS when they hit submit the form and the pdf opens within the iframe itself.  Is there a way around this?

Have there been any updates as to when the move smart campaign feature will be released?  I've seen this article in the Support section of the community but I don't think it was released this month either.  I'm working on cleaning up our Marketo instance and this feature would be really help me to consolidate folders and programs.

Getting this error when attempting to approve a template: "One or more mktEditable sections have errors. So I'm having a smart campaign with at smart list with a trigger "Link clicked in email", and the flow sets a data value to true.. My issue is that from the time i click on the link, to the data is set, it almost takes 2minuts, which breaks alot of my other smart campaigns and triggers.Is there anyway to prevent or speed up the change data operation?

Why doesn't Marketo save the workspace format I had previously set up? Each time I log in, other workspace which I have access but don't use regularly is always expanded.  This takes up space on my screen and collapsing it each time is very annoying.

Hi,I am attempting to send the same email on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to 3 different groups (Tuesday-Group 1, Wednesday-Group 2, and Thursday-Group 3) and then the following week I want to send the same email to those groups that did NOT open it, over the same 3 day period. My groups are 3 segments. Can I do this in an email program or would it be better to use a default program? Which is going to give me greater reporting capability?

Thus I would need to use the same form in each landing page. But when I tried that, I couldn't customize it so that email only appeared the first time.Does anyone have any suggestions? I've created a .ics file token using the .ics token creator, and I'm trying to add tokens into the description. The token is being carried through to the "thank you for registering" email and landing page just fine, but the tokens within the description of the .ics token are not being rendered properly. When I register for the event and look at the open the .ics fil linked to in the email, the tokens still show up as the name of the token, not the token's content. I threw a bunch of tokens into the description to check if it was just a problem with the particular token I was trying to use, but none of the tokens are working. I've looked at other discussions here, but they aren't poinging me towards any solution. It seems to me that I'm doing everything right, but something must be going wrong since the tokens aren't working within the description of the .ics file. Has anyone else had this experience and found a solution? I recently tried to send an email and came up with this in the 'Run History' section of the Smart Campaign. It also mentions that all leads qualified... Does anyone know what caused this error and what the best way to proceed is? Am i safe creating a new campaign and re-sending it? I don't want anyone getting the email twice as it is a select list of important clients. Any advice would be greatly helpful. Thanks!

Hi there,I have code that call Schedule Campaign with token contains HTML code.  When I made call with almost 800KB of HTML, I received response "413 Request Entity Too Large".  It is fine now after I compressd the HTML using HtmlCompressor to reduce it to less than 600KB.  I would like know what is the size limit of request entity.Thanks.

When leads are added to an existing list, does it make more sense to update the entire list by uploading both the old and new leads or import a new list of only the new leads? Will Marketo automatically  remove the duplicates (old leads) if I upload the new list in it's entirety? Which way is recommended?
