Hi Folks,           I get a great help from this forum and i follow very frequently. This time i have a question regarding Tables, how to manipulate fields in a table using JavaScript. The requirement is as follows, I have a Table (100rows x 3columns) and few of them are hidden from layout. The first column contains the text values such as sequential numbers, (the first column is visual index, 1, 2, ,3 ... 100). Now, i am trying to write a script which, replaces or overrides the first column values in text boxes to spaces. Can you guys help me out if making a script? or provide me some resources where i can manipulate table fields using JavaScript?Thanks in advance.

I know this may be a novice question, but can someone please explain when/why xfa.resolveNode is used form design? Is it a form of shorthand to keep from referencing a parent subform?Thanks in advance

I have a JDBC call to grab some data including a date/time stamp.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how to convert that string to a proper date/time field.  It's important because I need to use validation strings to present a more simplified date/time to users on a form.  But I'd like to keep the original date/time so I can reinsert it into a SQL db at the end.  I created a test process so I can watch the progress. input string = '2010/08/18 16:41:23'Expression = parse-dateTime-withFormat (/process_data/@datestring,"yyyy/MM/dd hh:mm:ss","en","US","WIN","CDT") Result = August 18, 2010 9:41:23 PM GMT Then I try to put that value into a date field and I get the error:: Invalid ISO8601 DateTime:August 18, 2010 9:41:23 PM GMT:java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "August 18, 2010 9:41:23 PM GMT"I've tried like 100 different variations to map into a date/time object with the same result.  I can use the parse-dateTime or parse-dateTime-withFormat functions all day long but I can'

I have a form that has five fields in it.  One of the fields can require multiple lines to exist and when it is printed you can't use a scroll bar.That field has "Allow multiple Lines" checked.  Just to get it to work, all the rest do as well.  Of course, that didn't work anyway.  This subform that can repeat has a node "RepeatingData" that has a node "Repeating" which has the five fields that can repeat.  I can't see any property on either containing node to allow it to dynamically grow.Any ideas?

I have a client who won't allow JavaScript in their forms for security reasons.  I'm trying to convert the JS I've used to work with FormCalc instead, but I don't have much experience with FC and I'm stuck at the first hurdle.I want to display the current and total pages in the master page and I've changed the generated code to use FormCalc and changed to use the dollar reference, but the form doesn't render the current page number.Here's the code return.#pageSet[0].Restricted.CurrentPageNumber::ready:layout - (FormCalc, client)//Doesn't work, even though it's copied from the reference materialthis.rawValue = xfa.layout.page($)// also tried$ = xfa.layout.page($) return.#pageSet[0].Restricted.NumberofPages::ready:layout - (FormCalc, client)//Worksthis.rawValue = xfa.layout.pageCount()Any and all help would be really appreciated

I've created a dynamic PDF form that contains a table. The table overflows perfectly onto the next page when enough rows are added, but I would like both the title leader and the table header row to be repeated on each page. Is this possible?

I have a dynamic table inside the PDF form. I want to loop through the table rows and read the cell contents. I successfully get the rows count in the table. But can't read the values from the cells. HI,I am using a dropdown to allow the form user to say whether or not he wants to see a subform.When I test this, here's the sequence I experience:1. Initial form opens and the subform is hidden and excluded from the layout. This is good...as intended. I am seeing subforms 1 and 3.2. I choose to display the hidden form. It appears. Also good and as intended. I am seeing subforms 1, 2, and 3.3. I choose to hide the subform. It goes away, but it leaves behind a blank page...a big gap...before the next subform. I am seeing subform 1...then a blank page...then subform 3.I am using "hidden" in my code. I do not understand why the form does not reflow properly.Many thanks,Joe

Hi there,I need help, desperately.I made a form using Desinger ES2, and set its target version to 9.1 or later.  When it is rendered in the browser/standalone with Reader Version 9.0, it would pop out "Invalid enumerated value: validationState", twice... I do a version check in the form's formReady event, it hides the entire form if version is not >= 9.1, and also pops up a message box telling the user that they do not have the latest Reader and should update or the form would not display/function properly.  BUT our client is still not happy with the sollution and complains about seeing this popup when they load it in 9.0.I need help getting rid of this popup in version 9.0 please.Regards,Nelson Wei

Hello All,I have a check box on a form.  Upon tabbing to the check box the custom text is read by the screen reader.  The custom text provides an explanation of the field as well as the current state (unchecked).  Is there a way to have the screen reader announce the state of the check box upon changing from unchecked to checked? If this required scripting or the use of alternate text, an example or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Jelf12

A lot of people on this form are accidentally selecting items that shouldn't be selected and need to be able to change the drop down menu back to blank if they have made a mistake and selected a wrong drop down item in the wrong area.Please help,Thanks!

I have found several good examples on how to modify the color of a field based on a value but am not having luck implementing.  My form is an evaluation with 3 sections of test scores, the total of all 3 could have a max value of 100.  Sections 1 & 2 are auto calculated, and section 3 is a value the user will input based on their review of all comments, scores, etc.  The final score has a rating, Outstanding 90-100, Satisfactory 70 - 89, and Unsatisfactory <=70.   Right now I'm not so much concerned about the color numbers, but I'm not able to get the colors to change at all.  Because this field is calculated based on sections 1-3, I put the code on its change event.  Once the user enters the final manual score in section 3, the value automatically changes.  I've also tried the exit event of the section 3 manual score, and obviously do not have either the code or where to place it right.  Below is the code I'm using, and would appreciate any help.  If I can learn how to do the 9

Hi,I am searching for the best way to create global variables so that the script can work on all adobe reader versions . I tried gobal.varibaleName at the initialize event of the form, but it is only working in the earlier versions of designer. I tried using script variables, but it always initializes the variable to string value. I have wrote some functions on the script object, and every time any functions fails, a  global variable count gets incremented. At the potsave event of the form if the count value is greater then 0 , a simple warning message is displayed . Now how to declare and initialize and increment this count variable so that the script can work on all the versions of adobe reader ?

I'm trying to use a button to add a subform. I know I need to have the repeating subform Flowed (which I've done) and I know I need to set the Repeat subform for each data item to Min 1. However, the Repeat subform for each data item is grayed out so I can't select it.What am I doing wrong?Thanks,MDawn

I'm trying to create basic if statement for one of the fields. In one portion of a form I'm designing, the user is supposed to enter several numbers in a table, and at the bottom two numbers are automatically calculated for them.I explain in the instructions for the form that some fields are automatically calculated, but I actually do not have room in the actual form to add a note next to every calculated field reminding people of that.  I've added code so that if a user tries to click on the automatically calculated field, a messagebox comes up explaining that the field is automatically calculated.  However, I do not want such a box to come up if someone is just tabbing through the objects on that page.  That would be annoying.What I want is to be able to exclude those two numeric entry fields from the tab order alltogether.  Adobe should just skip those fields when a user tabs through.  I can't figure out how to do that though.  Is there a way?  Other suggestions?Thanks

I know that in order for a subform to have dynamic elements it in, it needs to be flowed, and the form itself needs to be flowed. So, is there a way to put two flowing subforms side by side? I want to have two columns in my form, but I want each column to be flowed and dynamic.

This must be a ridiculously stupid question, because I've tried googling every possible variation of this question and come up with squat.I took a form in excel, converted it to pdf, imported it into LiveCycle, and am trying to add fields where the wizard did not. When I create text fields, it almost always puts in a caption, despite the fact that I don't want one. I can't resize to remove it, and I don't want it, but I don't know how to get rid of it.On a colleague's computer, I was able to create text fields without captions - the caption field in the field properties is just grayed out. In fact, when I pull up a form created on that computer, all text fields I create have no captions. When I create a new document on my own computer, they all have captions again.On an unrelated note, why is it that forms I create in this manner do not have the preview PDF option? It's just grayed out.

In Adobe LiveCycle 8.0, is there a way for me to change the background color of my form?

I’d like to add a watermark to a form I’ve created that will look like a light grey bold text that runs diagonally along the entire pate (not unusual for a digital watermark). My problem is that it seems like Acrobat has this as a built in feature but LiveCycle doesn’t. Initially, I’d prefer vector graphics for a number of reasons. First, I have found that having an image in the background of a form will begin to annoy the user if they’re cursor is in the “selection” mode and not the Hand Tool. Clicking on a blank part of the form will highlight the entire page if the watermark is actually an image behind the form…So here’s what I’ve attempted first: I created the desired watermark text, color, and shape in Word using “word art” to create the graphic. I then saved the blank page with the single graphic to a PDF file. Sadly, this won’t allow me to transfer all of the form geometry and text to this new PDF document as I created the form starting with a blank page and not an existing PDF…
