I have a requirement to develop a custom carousel using Sightly, but there really isn't a lot of documentation out there, and I'm not sure where to start, or exactly how to go about it. There are several good javascript carousel/slider components, and I'm wondering if I should try to use one of them, or simply develop it from scratch using Java/JSP. If anyone can summarize the steps, provide tutorials orany other links and material you can share, it would be greatly appreciated. The most important thing is to develop this component in a manner that embodies best practices such as a good separation of presentation and business logic, (MVC'ish architecture), and loose coupling from a styling perspective.

Hi All,I am getting issue org.apache.sling.servlets.post.impl.operations.ModifyOperation Exception during response processing while storing the values to Workitem in dialog participant step and found that its a bug. I dont see this issue fixed in Bug release notes. Any idea whether its resolved in 6.3 or 6.4? Error during completion of workflow dialog participant step | AEM 6.0, 6.1, 6.2

Hello, I am facing a weird issue installing a dispatcher for an author instance. The configuration for the author is based in a previous installation that I know it works fine. Now back to this project, the dispatchers for the publish instances are working fine. They do have the same httpd version, same RHEL version, same dispatcher module (I even copied the same .so from the working dispatchers). But Apache is unable to start and I do not have many useful info, since Apache doesn't write to the error_log, also dispatcher.log is not even created. apachectl configtestoutput says the syntax is OK. In fact, if I remove all the dispatcher configuration, and only try to load the module, Apache fails. So, I suspect is something with the .so itself, but as I said, it is the same exact file in the working dispatchers.Any hints or actions in order to get a more verbose output? Thanks.

Hello,I am trying to create a page flow report for a fellow team member based on page title, or page name, and as I click to grow the flow report, the top page viewed is always the same as the previous page.  Wondering why that is or if it is an error somewhere.  I took a training course a couple weeks ago, and the same thing happened in that environment also.Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,we are counting sold products= units from visits with last touch channel = e-mail + push.The first time we used a hit segment and the second time we worked with a visit segment. (Hit segment)(Visit segment)Now we are wondering why the amount of units are different depending on the two segments we've used. Because we expected the results to be equal.The screenshot below shows the result of using the visit segment.The following screenshot shows the result of using the hit segment.Can anybody explain to me the reason for this difference in data?  Thanks for your help!

Hello,I have a quick question about what is happening in the screenshot above.I have built a segment that contains 9 different url paths. The segment is built with 'or' so it tracks whether the user goes to either of the declared URL's.This shows the number of unique visitors, visits and page views.The data in the dashboard when it is broken down from the segment to show the URLs does not add up to the aggregated total. My question is can Adobe partition data? Because we are thinking that Adobe is breaking down the data by the UV/Visits by each url path so the overall total of the segment is less.Does anyone have any idea if this is the case or any other ideas why this might be happening?Thank you

Hi!I noticed some changes in ACS service creation and according to the latest release notes, services are now attached to an event instead of a transactional template. Despite this change, is it still possible to not use subscription confirmation messages?With the service I'm currently working on, I don't want to use an unsubscription confirmation message. However, when I delete the unsubscription confirmation, ACS says that the field is required and won't let me confirm and save the service (see my screenshot below). Is this some kind of a glitch or meant to be? How can I use services without using confirmation messages? Br,Sonja Luoto

I have a form that asks users to consent to their data being processed by a variable entity based on their country. I need to setup the form so that once a lead selects their country from the dropdown, the in the next field dynamically populates the entity with the country. So for eg. I as a lead, go to this form. I select Canada as my country from the dropdown. Once I do that, the next field in the form dynamically autopopulates this text: "I consent to (company name) Canada to use my data"I tried to accomplish this by using the lead country token within the form but it sometimes showed the default value even when country was filled out for a lead. Sometimes it worked.Also important to note is that this is a guided landing page, and the dynamic content is contained within the form, not on the landing page. Any help is appreciated!!

Where is the data collected with Context Hub Stored? Locally? Server Side? Cookies?

HI All,      As you all know SCR annotations are deprecated in 6.3 and we are moving towards OSGI R6 annotations, there was no workaround in 6.3 to overcome the issues with existing code written using SCR annotations in lower version AEM. Configuration binding is not updating jar associated with it. I found blogs related to the difference of the two and the implementation of OSGI R6, but couldn't find a solution for the later issue. Can anyone help in resolving this issue, as changing the annotations in existing code involves more manual effort and it would be better if there is a hot fix or some workaround for it .Thanks,Gokul

I may be missing it but I would like to show a rolling monthly view of revenue by day.  Selecting "This Month" and then selecting "Add Time Period Column" > "This Month Last Year to This Date Range" applies the appropriate LY range.  However when I then change the TY range to "Last Month" the secondary LY month does not change to the same range for LY.  Has anyone figured out a way to run a rolling month vs LY report in workspace?  Thanks!

Hi, i am trying to exclude from a visits report to a specific landing page ALL dates prior to 30 May 2018. However, i still get volumes for the excluded dates..So what i have done is add a container "Page equals Landing Page" and then i have added separate containers Quarter equals Jan 18 - Mar 18 and selected "exclude" from the container options, thenMonth equals Apr 18 and selected "exclude" from the container options, then Same logic for weeks until 20 MaySame logic for days until 29 Mayit doesn't work. Still getting volumes for early May and even before (April etc.) Thanks Kostas

Why doesn't the component have active status?

In AEM 6.4 TouchUI environment, I am trying to create components where custom JavaScript will execute, create a <div> element inside the component, and then add a parsys to that created <div>.For example, I author a CustomContainer component on the page, and refresh. I have custom JavaScript code that executes on page load that checks for CustomContainer component, and builds a DOM tree inside the component. Somewhere in that DOM tree exists a <div> that needs to have a parsys available where I can drag further components. Ideally I am looking for an existing JavaScript function like CQ.WCM.addParsys( containerElement )I have simplified my actual use case a bit to clarify what I am trying to accomplish. It is related to building components using a custom front end framework similar to Vue/Angular/React. I also understand there may be issues with how the page structure exists in JCR; hopefully I can solve for those issues somehow once the first problem is solved.I have

Hi everyone,I have published the offer in a webpage (ie using inbound channel) and the proposition status are not getting captured in the recipient proposition table. But when I use outbound channel (ie through email), proposition status are getting captured.Could you please help me to figure out why inbound propositions aren't getting captured. I have been trying to start AEM in debug mode so as to hook up eclipse as shown in this help page Debug a CQ5/AEM6 app using eclipse, however in the crx-quickstart folders there is no quickstart jar (such as "cq-author-4502.jar") or start script. I didn't install AEM using the quickstart jar instead just using an exe.Is there another way to start the server in debug mode or hook eclipse up?

Hi,We have configured our search using S&P. However, when we search a page which also has a vanity URL added to it, both the main URL and the vanity path is coming in the search results. Ideally this should not be the case. Like i Google search we hide the vanity URL from it. We want something similar for S&P too. Can someone please help with how we should configure it?
